Shekhawati Veterinary College

Shekhawati Veterinary College is a part of the Shikawati Group of Institutions in Sikar.  It has been established in the year 2023 with the objective of promoting merit amongst students in professional courses in the field of Veterinary Science Animal Husbandry.

The Shekawati Veterinary College campus measures around 20 acres dotted by lush green lawns. It is conveniently located in Jaipur Road, Behind Circuit House, Jaipur Road, Sikar, Rajasthan which is 120 km away from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, on the national highway No. 11.  The Institute is well connected by all modes of local transport.

Shekawati Veterinary College is a private institute Affiliated to Rajasthan University of Veterinary & Animal Science, Bikaner (RAJUVAS).  It has approval of UGC as well as The Veterinary Council of India (VCI), New Delhi.

Shekhawati Veterinary College which is well-known for its UG program, follows the course curriculum for B.V. Sc. & A.H. Degree program for 80 seats per annum as per the minimum Standards of Veterinary Education (MSVE 2016-2017) prescribed by Veterinary Council of India (VCI), New Delhi.  Admissions are made through NEET per the rules and regulation made by Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS) Bikaner, Rajasthan.  He/She will have to appear for NEET for admission.

The College provides expert Faculty and excellent Facilities, which are essential for accomplishing the goals as determined by the aspirants. This includes Well-Equipped Laboratories, Smart Classrooms, fully-stocked Library, well-facilitated Residential Accommodation for College Students and Faculty, Conference Hall, Meeting Hall, Computer/ARIS Cell, Ambulatory Clinic, Games and Sports facilities and much more.  It also possesses a Veterinary Clinical Complex that facilitates with Veterinary Diagnostic Lab, Clinical Pathology Lab, Animal X-ray Machine, Ultra sound machine and Operation Theatres for both large and small animals.  The college also has a Livestock Farm Complex which facilitates with different species of animals, poultry birds and own automatic milking parlor.

For the overall development of the students, Shekhawati Veterinary College organizes Educational tours and Field Trips to other Veterinary Colleges, National Research Centers, Government Farms, Dairy Plants, Zoos and National Parks in the different parts of the country.  Besides extra-curricular activities like sports and games for physical fitness, the college also provides a channel for students to practically apply what they have learnt in classrooms.  Students are encouraged to participate in various cultural and literary activities, blood donation camps, tree plantation program, social meetings, debate competitions and seminars, etc.

Admissions are made under two categories

State Quota (40 Seats) : Admission will be made through NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) as per the rules and regulation made by Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS) Bikaner, Rajasthan.
Management Quota (40 Seats): Admission will be made by the SVC based on NEET subject to fulfillment of their eligibility conditions. Notification for the same will be issued by the SVC through Regional, National dailies and College website.

Necessary information regarding the vacant seats under State Quota will be notified on the official website of RAJUVAS / VCI / College.

ELIGIBILITY (As per VCI norms)

Candidates must have completed the minimum age of 17 years as on 31st December and there is No upper age limit as per VCI, New Delhi.

Candidates must have passed the higher secondary examination conducted by a Statutory Board under the 10 + 2 pattern of secondary education or any other examination recognized to be its equivalent (equivalent to class XII of 10 +2 pattern).

Candidates under general category must have 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in the qualifying examination.

The candidates belonging to the SC/ST or other special category as specified by the Government from time to time & the marks required for the admission shall be 5% less than that prescribed for general category i.e. 47.5%.

He/She shall have to appear for the NEET for admission.

NOTE:- All the rules and regulations regarding the admission and eligibility of the candidate will be as per rules MSVE – 2016 (VCI norms).

The placement cell of Shekhawati Group of Institutions is well established, comprehensive & dynamic. It envisages arranging campus interviews with prestigious technology-driven companies. The Shekhawati Group of Institutions, maintain a record of its passed out candidates. These well-placed candidates not only help in better placements of present students but also visit the institutions frequently to highlight present trends of the corporate world. The aim of this cell is to bridge the gap between industry (manpower requirements) and students (job seekers) by providing a platform to meet out their requirements.

(A) PLACEMENT
Pre- Placement Training
Registration process for the campus placement starts before Two months of the event. All the Students of Shekhawati Group of Institutions are eligible to participate in every placement fair until they are placed. In this duration of 02 months students are offered Pre-training with the help of experts & senior faculty members. Effective resume writing, Pre- test, GD, Mock Session Interviews are carried out to make students familiar with the procedure of upcoming event.

Placement Event Procedure-
Step- I: WELCOME OF DELEGATES & CONVERSATION
Delegates of different companies were warmly welcomed by SGI. HRs of different companies were presented flower bouquets at the entrance of the campus and escorted to the chairman’s office. Representatives of all the companies had a short conversation with the Chairman of the Group prior to the commencement of the placement procedure. Detailed information’s regarding the process, venue, registered students as well as their criteria were provided and discussed at length.
Step- II: DELEGATES INTERACTION WITH STUDENTS
Delegates of different companies will interact with the students in seminar hall and describe about company’s strengths, Objectives, Mission, Vision and about the job profile in detail and answer queries raised by the students.
Step- III: WRITTEN TEST, GROUP DISCUSSION & TECHNICAL ROUND
Students were rigorously tested on a variety of parameters ranging from soft skills, technical abilities, team playing capabilities etc. The written tests (both technical & non-technical) and Group Discussions covered technical as well as contemporary topics.
Step- IV: HR INTERVIEW SESSION
The selected students from the GD round were later on permitted to sit in the PI (Personal Interview) round. The representatives of the respective companies took the interview of each candidate separately & discussed company specific Terms & Conditions with them covering all the aspects of their job profile.
Step-V: PLACED STUDENTS OFFERED JOINING / OFFER LETTERS/LOI
Those students, who succeeded in clearing the cut-offs (company specific), were given Joining / offer letters/LOI for their brilliant outcome of hard work and technical knowledge.

(B) SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Summer training & Internship is an important part of any technical curriculum. Summer Training/Internship offers Students an Opportunity to work in a professional way which helps them to enhance their technical skills. This exposure will help them to deliver their best, when they become ready to join the industry as working professionals. Students from Junior classes are also offered opportunity to manage the event and grab summer internship opportunities.

University Merit Scholarships

Hostel, Room and Living Area
SGI offers comprehensive hostel facilities within the institute campus. We recognized that most of our students are away from home for the first time and need homely environment away from home. We therefore strive hard to make the transition as smooth as possible by offering comfortable and safe hostel within the campus. Institute offers separate hostel for boys and girls with hostel warden in each hostel to supervise day to day management. All the rooms have been designed to provide adequate moving space and ample air and Light. SGI has apartment style -three private single occupancy rooms with wardrobe, study table with chair open into a common living room equipped with a television set (Optional in AC Rooms only) and the rooms are WIFI enabled.

Sports Facility
SGI has developed huge and well maintained play grounds in all campuses for the all-round development of students Various outdoor games like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Badminton & Indoor games like Table Tennis, Chess, Carom, Billiards etc. are organized under the supervision of Sports instructors. The institutes keep on organizing sports activities and inter-college meets from time-to-time.

Mess and Cafeteria
Each hostel operates its own mess providing hygienic and nutritious meals, thrice a day. In an attempt to provide the students more in campus facilities, modern canteens have been provided in all SGI campuses. Well structured cafeterias have become quite popular amongst the students who assemble there in a congenial environment during the lunch break and off times.
Quality food stuffs are available at subsidized rates. Balanced, well planned hygienically prepared lunch and dishes are served to the day-scholars, hostellers, faculty members & visitors.
