The Motilal Kanhaiyalal Fomra Charitable Trust, established in 1995 by the late Shree Kanhaiyalalji Fomra, is dedicated to promoting education and supporting economically and socially disadvantaged communities. Spread over a sprawling area of 25 acres of serene luscious green land, SMK Fomra Institute of Technology is located 35 km from Chennai amidst a picturesque landscape.  The address of the campus is Fomra Nagar, Thaiyur, Rajiv Gandhi Salai, (OMR), IT Highway, Kelambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

SMK FIT is an ISO 9001:2015 certified Institution which is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.  It is also accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade.The college imparts courses in various branches of engineering at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels as per the guidelines of AICTE.

SMK Fomra Institute of Technology offers a number of UG and PG level in Full Time mode in the field of Engineering. The courses offered include B.E (in 7 Disciplines), and M.E (in 4 Disciplines).
