Shri. Gulabrao Deokar College of Engineering formerly known as Shri. Sureshdada Jain College of Engineering Jalgaon established in July 1999 under the aegis of Shrikrishna Educational & Cultural Mandal, founded by President Shri. Appasaheb Gulabraoji Deokar (Ex-Minister of State, Agriculture & Transport Minister, Maharashtra) in Jalgaon with an aim to provide higher quality technical education and greater opportunities to aspiring students of the region. The institute is approved by AICTE, New Delhi vide a Letter No. 740-89-345(A/I) ET/99. Dated 23-07-1999, recognized by Govt of Maharahstra vide letter PEC-2099/(336-99), TE-1 Dated 28-7-1999. Affiliated by North Maharashtra University, awarded by N.A.A.C. Re-Accrediated 'B' (CGPA 2.88) Grade Varsity Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India.

Training & Placement Cell

Keeping in mind the need of better job opportunities for the students, Training & Placement cell was formed. Cell makes direct interaction with the corporate people from the various industries. Every year entrepreneurship development programme is being conducted to motivate students for the self-employment. The students has compulsion to complete two-week rigorous training in industry. Cell supports to the students for their projects in industry, technical paper presentation, visits etc. It has taken every care to develop the personality of the students to match themselves for the better job offers, motivated them for the self-employment, guided for GATE, GRE, TOEFL, CAT etc. which are the entrance examination for admission to Post Graduate courses in India or aborad. They are also guided for preparation of competative examination like UPSC, MPSC, Engineering services etc.

Fee Waiver Scheme

The State Government has started a fee waiver scheme to help the economically poor but meritorious students. Further information regarding this can be obtained from the office of the Registrar.

Education Loans

Getting Education is no longer an insurmountable problem these days. Education loans are available to the needy and deserving students from the Nationalized Banks at reasonable rates of interest. Theses loans are repayable after the completion of the degree/diploma.

Financial Help

It is a motto with the management of our Group, “Poverty would not be allowed to stand in the way of the completion of the education of meritorious students. Such students are generously helped. Academically intelligent and poor students to acquire higher education by giving them financial help in the form of tuition fee waiver. Relaxation in tuition fee is also given to merit position holders in the qualifying examinations/competitive examinations and position holders in the University examinations. The parents of meritorious students are also honoured along with the students in the annual functions of the Colleges.

Facilities

Hostel

There are two Boy’s Hostels having capacity 100 each and one Girls Hostel having capacity 180. Location of Girls Hostel is in College campus. The rooms are well furnished provided with internet connection facility as per need. The mess facility is provided in the Hostel itself. In hostel rules and regulations are strict, so that students should follow the discipline. The students are also enjoying Gymkhana facility for there Physical development under the guidance of Physical Director.

Sports & Gymkhana

Only excellent academic record can not give completeness to personality, it needs sportsmanship, heart to accept failure, spirit to maintain success, more than this good physique. All this one can achieve by involving one in sports. Sports gives chance to interact with players of different cultures & religions which is in turn helpfull for national integrity. Sports enhances inner qualities of a person. It also helps to increase the concentration through meditation process.

Proposed Facilities

Gymnasium, Swimming pool, Indoor Badminton hall, Aerobics hall & Yoga Center. The students of our college are performing very well in various sports activities at various levels like inter collegiate, zonal level, university level, national level & international level also. We are very proud to mention that many students of our college are selected in University teams for various sports. A student from our college is selected to play ball badminton at international level at Thailand.

Extra Benefit

The university players are getting benefit of additional 15 marks in respective year.

Features Outdoor Games

For improvement overall personality of student our college provides the best platform for sports, by arranging sports week in every year. Moreover our college has the best basketball court. Large playground is available to play various outdoor games like badminton, kho-kho, kabbaddi, cricket, soft ball, volley ball, foot ball, lawn tennis etc.

Indoor Games

All facilities are provided to play indoor games like carrom, badminton, table tennis, chess etc.

Library

It is a heart of any educational institute. Through this 'Sea of Knowledge' students can avail education, general knowledge and information. The library information is given by using advance library software which provides easy access of books to students & staff. The CD library is also provided to students for core subjects as well as for spoken English courses, etc.

The college has a Transport facility for the students.
