Sindhi college of Arts & Science was established by the Sindhi Educational Society during the academic year 1991-92 as a self-financing college affiliated to the University of Madras, Chennai.

Sindhi college was established in the academic year 1991-1992. The college has a sprawling 22 acres site and is housed in an elegant three storeyed building with neccessary facilities in accordance with the regulations of the Government and the University. The college has set up excellent computer labs for UG and PG classes and also good facilities for Visual Communication courses.

There are over 2000 students on the rolls studying in both UG and PG courses. There are more than 105 dedicated lecturers in various faculties and they are ably guided by an experienced Principal. A good number of them are from rural background. Besides formal academic instructions, the College also provides ample opportunities for Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities.

A Student Councelling-Tutorial System is being offered in the institution and this caters to the problems of students and they are guided properly for excellence in achievements by the tutors with personal care. The College conducts English Bridge Courses along with an efficient Linguaphone System to improve their communication skills.

The College has a N.S.S. Unit with one Programme Officer and 100 NSS Volunteers. The NSS and the Youth Red Cross Wing enable the students to get involved with the society and its requirements.

Admission Procedure
Students are required to enclose a copy of the address proof (eg: Ration Card/ Voter ID/ Driving Licence/ Passport /Aadhaar Card)

Candidates who have passed CBSE or Higher Secondary Examination (XII Standard) conducted by Boards other than the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Board of Education shall be required to produce an ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE from the University of Madras.

The college DOES NOT COLLECT DONATIONS in any form for admission. The college has not appointed any outside agency or individuals to select students for admission. If anyone approaches you promising admission on payment of money please bring it to the notice of the Principal.

Applicants provisionally selected for admission will be intimated by Post. They must present themselves for an interview with the Principal along with their parents/Guardian on the date and the time mentioned in the card.

At the time of interview, the student should produce:

1. Original Transfer Certificate
2. Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied
3. Mark Statements of Higher Secondary Course or any other qualifying examination in the case of applicants for Undergraduate courses, along with three photo copies of the mark statement.
4. Eligibility Certificate issued by the Madras University in the case of applicants whose qualifying Examination has to be recognized by the University
5. Degree Mark Statements and Provisional Certificates in the case of applicants for the Postgraduate courses
6. One Passport size colour photograph and one Stamp size colour photograph
7. Demand Draft for the fees to be paid on admission.
