Established in 1945 under the name of Veerashaiva Education Society, Sri Jagadguru Renukacharya College of Science, Arts and Commerce is located in the heart of the city Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka is spread over a campus of 2.3 acres. The College is devoted to promoting education in all branches of learning and in building a holistic personality among students. It caters to the educational needs of students cutting across gender, caste, creed, community and religion, with the sole objective of empowering the youths by imparting knowledge and facilitating at affordable cost.

Sri Jagadguru Renukacharya College is affiliated to Bangalore City University and is a grant-in-aid institution. It is recognized by UGC under section 2(f) & 12 (b) in the year 1994. It is recognized by UGC as College with Potential for Excellence. The college was accredited by NAAC with B+ grade in the year 2003 with CGPA 76.50 and was re-accredited with ‘B’ Grade in the year 2010 and 2016.

Sri Jagadguru Renukacharya College of Science, Arts and Commerce is a well reputed, service-oriented institution, which is one of the first three aided colleges of the City, which was started in the year 1945. It runs all the traditional courses like B.Sc, BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA and M.Com. The state-of-the-art facilities, infrastructure, well built, well-lit spacious class-rooms are the hallmark of the institution. With sympathy and empathy to the poor and the needy, in spite of the tough competition of many highly commercial education al institutions, the management of the college, SJRES has not changed its service mission.

The student friendly atmosphere with efficient placement service to reinforce the college from time to time, has introduced Add-on courses in Languages, Arts, Science and Commerce streams with UGC sponsorship. In addition, it also offers self-financed certificate courses in Tally , Web Designing, Advance Excel etc.,

Anti-ragging cell, Anti Sexual harassment cell, Women Empowerment cell, Alumni's association, NCC, NSS, Red Cross, Human Rights’ cell, Red Ribbon club, Counselling cell, Scouts and Guides, Yoga center, Placement cell are active throughout the year. 14 Faculty with Ph.Ds and 10 M.Phils, have an aptitude for research.

The college is committed to the cause of the poor and needy, dedicated to the upliftment of the illiterates and the first-generation literates by providing education with a nominal fee structure. The college provides fee concessions,installment fees facility, merit and endowment scholarships ,awards and prizes to the achievers. ( Students are informed to keep a scanned copy of Photo, Aadhar Card, Caste/Income certificate if applicable, Class X and PU marks card in PDF format only )

3. Submit to the office
4. Documents required for admissions,

B.Com, BBA, BCA
B.Sc – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany (Select any two subject as per NEP Guidelines)
BA – History, Economics, Optional Kannada (Select any two subject as per NEP Guidelines)

Students from other universities must produce their migration certificate
Students from other states should produce their Certificate of Eligibility from the University along with filled in the application form.
Students seeking admission to any course, should affix 1 passport size photograph to their application form and submit 3 passport size photographs at the time of admission.
The languages chosen must be the same as those chosen for their qualifying examination.
All admissions are provisional and subject to approval of the Bengaluru City University.
Students thus selected, should pay the prescribed fee on or before the notified date.
Fee paid on admission will not be refunded under any circumstances.
If the minimum strength of 15 is not fulfilled, the courses/ combinations concerned will be cancelled and in such cases the whole fees, except the application and prospectus charges will be refunded.

SJRC placement cell plays an important role in locating job opportunities for undergraduates and postgraduates and it operates round the year to facilitate contact between companies and graduates.

Placement cell activities include career guidance and training sessions for the students in an effective way which enhances their aptitude and communication skills that lay the foundation for job placements.

SJRC placement cell is well established by inviting every year Infosys, TCS, Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro, IBM,HDFC and many more IT and Non-IT companies in-campus.

The cell has been active in finding placement to our students. The cell conducts two pre-placement training every year. Certificate courses of 30 hours duration are conducted to boost placement. The market friendly courses like Tally, Web designing etc., are conducted. Orientation programme is held in collaboration with Employment exchange about available Government jobs. Job fairs are conducted every year.

Objectives of placement cell.

To prepare students for campus recruitment arranging training in Aptitude tests, Group discussions, preparing for Technical and HR interviews through professional trainers.
To promote career counseling by organizing guest speakers viz. senior corporate personnel and most importantly by the immediately placed senior students.
To assist students in obtaining placement in reputed companies.
To organize on-campus off-campus interviews for final year students and internship (training) for students in industries and reputed institutes.

The purpose of the placement policy is to define the overall structure & processes of the Training and placement, and to structure the roles & responsibilities of the teams working on this process of placement.

Recruitment process (in campus)

Initially interested reputed companies communicate their willingness to conduct in the campus through E-mail. The placement coordinator assesses the requirements and reverts the mail with the appropriate date and time. The placement cell will share the eligibility criteria, job profile and a brief company profile with interested students. Students are supported with training sessions, Finally, students actively participated in campus drives and selected students get letters of interest. After the submission of the final year marks card students get their appointment letter.

Scholership

The candidates must be studying in Classes 11 and 12 at a recognised educational institution in India. Applicants must have scored at least 60% marks in the preceding class. The annual family income of the applicants from all sources must be less than or equal to₹2,50,000.
