SKP Engineering College, a unit of SKP Group of Institutions, Tiruvannamalai is a self-financing engineering sponsored by Sri S Kuppusaamy Memorial Educational Trust. The college was founded in 1999 with the noble aim of impartinging technical education to rural citizens in and around Tiruvannamalai. Mr K Karunanithi serves as the Group Founder and Chairman of numerous esteemed educational institutions, such as SKP Engineering College, SKP Institute of Technology, SKP Vanitha International School, SKP Vanitha Matriculation School, SKP Arts and Science College, and SKP Law College.

The SKPEC has a huge campus size of 28 acres and is strategically located in the ideal and intersecting point of Pondicherry – Bangalore national highway (NH-66), Somasipadi Post, Chinnakangiyanur, Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. It is district headquarter located from an average distance of 180 kms from Chennai, Bangalore, Trichy and 90 kms from Chittoor and Pondicherry. It is also well connected by rail from the junctions of Katpadi to Tirupati. The climate prevailing in the town is moderate throughout the year.

The college, initially approved to start with four B.E. / B.Tech programs with the student intake of 240, is currently offering 9 UG (B.E./B.Tech.) and 5 PG (M.E.) programs in the fields of Engineering and Technology and 1 PG program in Management Studies (M.B.A) with annual approved intake of 1086 students. Placement

The placement cell continuously works to identify requirements of companies and co-ordinates with the training cell and the career development cell to train the students. The Team maps the right talent to the right industry. It has been working meticulously to achieve 100% placements year after year. The placement cell focuses more on giving opportunities in core industries to the students.

The placement cell has introduced “Earn While You Learn” model through paid internships. The students are prepared for interview and are placed for internship. The students are paid a stipend, ranging from Rs. 10,000 – Rs. 25,000/- during their internship period. The internship model helps the students and the corporate to understand each other better, paving way for the students to get placed in the companies. The cell continuously monitors their progress and facilitates the students to upgrade their skill-set appropriately. Special timetable and procedures are designed to facilitate the students to complete their regular curriculum during their internship.

The College Library was established in the year 1999. The total area of the Library building is about 1440 sq.m. Many knowledge-based services like Reference, Bibliography, MALIBNET service. DELNET, Reprography, CD-ROM Databases, Internet browsing and e-services are provided by the library for its users.A canteen is a store that sells food and drink at an institution like a camp, college, or military base. A canteen can also be a small container used to carry water to drink.Canteen facility is made available to cater snacks, coffee, tea and other refreshments to the students and the staff members throughout the college hours. A pleasant landscape with modern kitchen and hygienic food are the main attractions of the place.Every Care is taken to see to the comfort of visiting Professors and guests who can stay at the fully furnished and air-conditioned guest house. Spread over 13,900 s.ft, the guest house has 15 A/C double rooms.
