Eligibility

Passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution; with at least 45% marks (40% incase of candidates belonging to reserved category) inappropriate branch of Engineering / Technology.

Passed B. Sc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject.

Provided that in case of students belonging to B. Sc.Stream, shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics /Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year engineering program along with the second year subjects.

Provided further that, the students belonging to B. Sc.Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students Belonging to the Diploma stream.

Provided further that students, who have passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology from an AICTE approved institution or B. Sc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, shall also be eligible for admission to the first year Engineering Degree courses subject to vacancies in the first year class in case the Vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted. However the admissions shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned in A, B, D, and E above.

As the admissions are purely based on AICTE norms. The Institute recognizes scores of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) and Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP). The pre-requisite is minimum 45% marks as aggregate in class XII in Physics, Mathematics (compulsory) and Chemistry/Computer science/Bio-tech/Biology from any recognized Board or equivalent.

The Institute follows all guidelines issued from Social Empowerment and Justice Department, Govt. of Rajasthan for fee relaxation policies and other matters for the Students eligible for availing Scholarship from Rajasthan State.

1.Government Scholarship:

Ø  The Institute provides full assistance to the eligible students for filling up of Scholarship form from their respective State Government Social Welfare Office.

2.Institutional Scholarship:

Ø  Besides Government Scholarship, the Institute also distributes scholarship to the meritorious students based on their performance in the Scholarship Test conducted at the time of admission.

Ø  The institute has special scholarship scheme for the students belonging to SC/ST/OBS-BPL/Minority Categories.

Ø  To promote the Girl Child Education, the institute offers special scholarship scheme named as ‘Balika Shiksha Protsahan’.

SMCET provides opportunities of interaction between students and representatives of the industry to facilitate placement in suitable jobs. Campus interviews are arranged by the college. SMCET also acts as a platform to have dialogue between representatives of government/financial agencies/entrepreneurs and students. Many multinationals and other organizations of repute, visit our campus in search of talented future managers regularly. The institute has a 100% placement assistance policy.

Placement Process

·         The companies are requested to mail the enclosed Response Form to the Institute/contact Director-SMCET, for their requirement for placements.

·         The placement schedule is worked out with mutual consent.

·         The CVs of the students interested in respective organization are collected by the Placement Cell. These are then forwarded to the companies, if desired.

·         The companies are advised to give Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) before starting the selection process at the campus. This provides an opportunity to the students to understand the organization better and gives the companies the idea of the student’s expectation & desires.

·         The final job offers/appointment letters are routed through Director, SMCET.

Library:

The library plays a pivotal role in the intellectual pursuits of students and academia at the college. The library is fully computerized and is a veritable storehouse of information with sample text and reference books, national and international periodicals & journals, theses & dissertations. The library has a special collection of prescribed textbooks, the latest research papers, and reference materials in print along with the facility to refer to e-journals, CDs, project reports, government publications, reports, newsletters & back volumes related to management, information technology, mass communication, hospitality management, fashion, science, etc. for the reference of the students and the faculty alike.

Hostal:

The college provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. There is a separate block for the senior & junior students. There are individual hostel wardens to oversee the functioning of the hostels and to attend to the problems of the students. Medical attention is also instantly made available. For recreation, there are indoor and outdoor games as well as television. Availability of hostel facility is restricted to outstation candidates and is provided on a first come-first serve basis. Hostels are available for Single, Double & Triple occupancy.

Computer Labs:

Housing over 180 high-end internet-enabled computers, SMCET has one of the best IT infrastructures among engineering colleges in India. It is adequately equipped with modern hardware and software and staffed with qualified personnel. Each student is provided a free Laptop at the beginning of the session, so as to enable them to make the best use of the facilities available at the campus. The 24×7 Wi-fi enabled campus encourages the students to keep themselves updated with the latest of everything.

Medical Facilities:

There are Doctors on call to provide free counseling and first-aid to students. There are tie-up arrangements with some of the reputed specialty hospitals in the vicinity of the campus by which students needing medical attention for ailments are taken care of.

Wi-Fi Campus:

SMCET believes in keeping the students up-to-date with the latest and greatest. The campus is thus completely Wi-Fi enabled & boasts an extensive internet bandwidth. Registered students are given individual Logins to access the campus internet services on any of their registered devices.
