SNM Institute of Management and Technology is one of the most prestigious and earliest self financing engineering colleges in Kerala. This Institute is owned and managed by the Hindu Matha Dharma Paripalana Sabha (HMDP Sabha, Moothakunnam), which was established in 1882, under the guidance of Sri Venkatagiri Sasthrikal, an Andhrite theologist, who pioneered Hindu Maha Parishath movement. Motivated by the teachings of the great social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru, a number of educational Institutions were established by the sabha. SNM Institute of Management and Technology was established in the year of 2002 on the campus at Maliankara, and it is the latest jewel in the crown of HMDP Sabha. The college is situated in Ernakulam district, at Maliankara, a village, 3 KM away from NH-17, between N.Paravur and Kodugallur. It is spread over a sprawling area of 45 acres in a serene atmosphere with ever green coconut palms and surrounded by backwaters and the Arabian Sea. SNMIMT, Maliankara is by far the great forerunner in the field of Technology and Management in Kerala by virtue of the innovative approach in the curriculum transaction. This educational institution is housed in an imposing structure of more than one lakh seventy thousand square feet, set in a typical rural ambience of the fishing village that is Maliankara, surrounded by back waters and the Arabian Sea in the west. Though essentially rural, it is urban in instructional and infrastructural facilities with the calmness and serenity that encompasses the college campus, one could only be fascinated and impressed beyond measure. You know the saying, The college is recognized by AICTE and affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). It offers B.Tech programe in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering,Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering with a total intake of 420 regular and 42 lateral entry (Diploma Holders) students in the second year bringing the total to 462 students.

Eligibility for Admission under Merit Quota

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subjects with at least 45% marks put together in the above subjects are eligible for admission, as specified in the KEAM 2023 prospectus.

Candidates must qualify in Engineering Entrance Examination (KEAM 2023) conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Government of Kerala.

KEAM (Kerala Entrance Exam) rank is not mandatory to apply under this quota.

This quota is for applicants sponsored by NRIs or children of Indians employed in Gulf Countries. An NRI can sponsor the children or dependents and he/she will have to give an undertaking in the prescribed format. Also, he/she should provide a copy of his/her Passport and a copy of the VISA, all self-attested.

The Managements are entitled to fill up 15% seats in the NRI category (NRI) by admitting qualified students who are dependents of Non Resident Indians. Students admitted under this scheme will not be allowed to change Institution / Course/ Quota under any circumstances.

Scholarships
Criteria for enjoying various scholarships offered by HMDP Sabha for Merit Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota

100 % of tuition fee will be granted as scholarship to students with 95% marks or above in +2 examination.
Students with 90% of marks or above need to pay only tuition fee of Rs. 10,000/- only.
50 % of tuition fee will be given as scholarship to those students who score 80% of marks or above in +2 examination.
25% of tuition fee will be given as scholarship to those students who score 75% of marks or above in +2 examination.
Govt. engineering college tuition fee will be offered as scholarship for entrance-qualified students who score 80% or above marks in +2 examination and financially weak in nearby panchayats having relevant certificate from concerned authorities.

Library - About
The library is housed in a hall measuring more than 4000 sq.ft. A fully furnished reading room, lobby, store room, reference room, internet (broad band), digital library etc. are the main attractions. The reading room can be used by 150 persons at a time.

Working Hours
The librarywill remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all working days and Saturdays. It will remain closed on approved holidays.

The library has a collection of 12,000 books and back volumes of journals. The library has subscription to diverse national and international journals catering to all the branches of Engineering. LANGUAGE LAB

The language Lab provides opportunities for students to enhance their skill in communication which is a pre-requisite to develop their personality and get placed in reputed firms. Thirty students can utilize the Language lab at a time. It also offers training for Group Discussion, Mock Interview and Soft Skill Developments of the students. It can fine tune the students ability to speak the English language.

CANTEEN

SNMIMT has spacious canteen at each of its campus. At the canteen, dishing out menus are highly popular among students as well as staffs. Students enjoy their food in the clean, well maintained, aesthetic and appetising atmosphere. Most people fondly remember their college canteen as one of their life's high points. It is the place where they keep their creative juices flowing with discussions, chewing ideas, exchanging and sharing strongly held opinions and eatables.

Kitchen staff takes care to provide the students and staff a nutritious and hygienic food at our campus canteens.Canteen has become a welcome break for both the students and staffs and is the daily hob-nob after college hours.The canteen is the lifeblood of the students. The homely atmosphere and aroma of delicious food permeates the air as they eat, drink and chat.
