Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering & Technology is one of the fastest and most rapidly institutions of higher learning in India at the moment. SSIET commenced functioning as a very modest institute in the year 1999 and is proud of its achievements in its 25 years of existence. Dr. AMK. Jambulingam, is the founder Chairman.

SSIET is a self-financing institute approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and is affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai. It is approved by NBA and NAAC .It is accredited by the National Resources Centre for National Cyber Security Program (NCSP). It has a 2F recognition by UGC. It also has DSIR recognition by SIRO.

SSIET is on a huge and massive self contained and independent 50 Acre campus within the city situated in Sree Sastha Nagar, Chennai - Bangalore Highway, Chembarambakkam, Chennai.

SSIET offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. Only full-time enrolment is permitted for SSIET courses. There are a total of 23 courses offered by the institute, of which 12 are UG courses, 9 are PG courses and 2 are Ph.D programs.

The college provides a large number of facilities to its students for easy and comfortable academics. All facilities offered by SSIET are the latest and state of art without any compromise on quality. The infra structure included independent hostels for Boys and Girl students within the campus. While the Boy's Hostel is almost 10,000 sq meters with 167 rooms on 4 sharing basis with access to gym, entertainment etc, the Girl's Hostel has 79 rooms on 4 sharing basis with reading and recreation rooms. The college also provides outdoor activity facilities. Students have access to modern IT infrastructure, Cafeteria, Auditorium and many Alumni Associations to hone and learn personal development skills. Wifi facilities for staff and students is available. All Labs are well equipped and air-conditioned. The College has tied up to provide Banking and ATM
facilities within the college campus. SSIET has a well maintained and well networked own Transport Fleet for the use of Students, Faculty and other Staff to all parts of the city,

SSIET has an in-house Placement Cell which is well structured and very well connected in the industry. The Placement Cell creates awareness among the students to identify and understand their career objectives. Necessary guidance in terms of skill development. Regular training programs and workshops are conducted by the industry and also by trade associations.
