Sree Sowdambika College of Engineering (Autonomous) – SSC was established in the academic year 2000-2001, is an esteemed educational institution promoted by the philanthropic "Chockalingapuram Devangar Varthagar Sangam," a non-profit trust registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act of 1975. Founded in 1919 by our visionary forefathers, the trust recognized the importance of higher education and began its journey with the establishment of Sri Sowdambika Polytechnic College in 1984-1985 and Sri Sowdambika Convent Matriculation School in 1986-1987. Sree Sowdambika College of Engineering is another significant milestone in their enduring commitment to education. The institution’s development is guided by a dedicated board of management formed by the Chockalingapuram Devangar Varthagar Sangam, who continue to work with unwavering dedication to advance the college’s mission. The College is Private, Self Financed, Autonomous, Minority (Devanga), Co-Education Institution.

Sree Sowdambika College of Engineering is located at Chettikurichi, Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar District, Tamil Nadu. ST/ST SCHOLARSHIP – GOVERNMENT OF INDIA/TAMIL NADU

• Those candidates who are Indian citizens and who have passed School leaving examination, viz. Higher Secondary/ Indian School Certificate, etc. are eligible for this scholarship.
  
• The income of the parent should not exceed Rs 2,50,000 per annum.
  
• The scholarship is renewable from year to year within the stages of education.
  
• The candidate should not be in receipt of another scholarship/assistance from other sources.

• To impart training in a long term perspective through minimum of 5 activities every semester that provides students opportunity to transform their ideas and thoughts into words and actions.

It was registered as a Society on June 30, 1992.
