Admission Process 

Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV), Pondicherry's admission process primarily relies on NEET scores for medical courses (MBBS, MD/MS), with counselling through the MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) for a percentage of seats. Nursing and other allied health science programs have their own specific eligibility criteria, often requiring prior qualifications like a B.Sc.

• After completing the above, admission is finalized, and you begin the programme. Sometimes there is a cancellation/discontinuation / refund policy also published.

Fee Details

• Fees vary widely depending on the course / programme. For example, PhD tuition is about Rs. 50,000 per annum for full time / part time etc. 
• Some UG/PG fees are much higher (e.g. medical / MBBS etc.) in the lakhs. For example, the MBBS tuition fee is Rs. 24,00,000 per annum given in the notices.
• SBVU Application / registration fees are generally non-refundable.

Scholarship

SBV Scholarship Committee

• The university has a Scholarship Committee. It handles policies for free-ships / fee waivers and other institutional scholarships based on merit and socio-economic status. 

Central Sector Scholarship Scheme

• SBV participates in the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme, for “College and University Students.” This is for meritorious students from low income families. 

Dr. Vany Adithan Doctoral Fellowship

• There is a special fellowship offered by SBV for full-time doctoral research in areas like cancer biology and related disciplines.

Eligibility & What the Scholarship Covers

From what is publicly available:

• The Central Sector Scholarship requires that the student not belong to the “creamy layer” (a category for income ceiling), and the family income threshold is around Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum, now updated to Rs. 6 lakh in recent notices. 
• The scholarship is merit-based, often requiring high performance in class XII (e.g. top percentile) or equivalent. 
• Reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC) are eligible with internal reservation policies applying. 
• The amount: For graduation level: Rs. 1,000/month for first three years, Rs. 2,000/month for the 4th & 5th years; paid for 10 months in academic year.

Placement 

• SBV has a dedicated Placement Cell / Career Advancement & Training unit that helps students with preparation for job/internship opportunities. 
• Activities include: pre-placement training, mock interviews, guest lectures, workshops, career counselling, resume preparation etc.
• The cell liaises with hospitals, research institutions, pharma companies, etc. (especially for medical / health sciences students) for placements and internships.
