Sri Bharathi Engineering College for Women (SBECW) is a Top Class and Premier College of Engineering and Technology and is the First Engineering College started only for Women in Pudukkottai District. The College was established in the year 2009 by Mr. G. Dhanasekaran, Founder & Chairman, Sri Bharathi Group of Educational Institutions with a clear objective to, inspire and educate young minds to grow with the principles of Truth, Obedience, Honour, Integrity a nd Purity for their bright future.

SBECW is located on a large Pollution Free Campus spanning over 5 acres. The unique feature of the campus is that it is Wheelchair Accessible and also has a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Parking Area. The College is located in a Rural setting at Aranthangi Road, Kaikurichi, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukkottai, Tamilnadu. Pudukkottai Bus Stand is 6 Kms away from the College and the nearest Airport is Tiruchirapalli, at a distance of 45 Kms.

SBECW is approved by the AllIndia Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The College has NAAC "A" Accreditation with ISO 9001 Certificationand is NIRF Ranked.

The College offers 4 B.E and 1 B.Tech Program in various Disciplines as Academic Course options. The College has an approved intake capacity of 270 Students per year.

This institute is located at the outskirts of Pudukkottai, about 6 kilometers from Pudukkottai and almost at a rural atmosphere.

The students coming to this institute find it very difficult to travel by public transport since they are always overcrowded and the travel gives much physical strain. In view of this, the college administration has made elaborate arrangements for running the buses owned by the management to cover the students from remote rural areas.
