Placement

Sri Jagannath Medical College and Hospital Puri is a government medical institution where placements are not conducted in the same way as in engineering or management colleges. After completing the MBBS course students undergo a one year compulsory internship in the attached teaching hospital or other government approved hospitals. During this internship they gain hands on clinical experience and receive a monthly stipend as per government rules. After the internship students can either apply for postgraduate medical entrance exams like NEET PG or choose to work as medical officers in government or private hospitals. Many graduates also serve in rural and community health centers under state health programs. Being a new college the first few batches are still completing their studies but future graduates will have good opportunities in both government and private healthcare sectors.
