Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE)
Sri Jayachamarajendra College Of Engineering, a private Institute conceived in 1963, is the dream child of His Holiness Jagadguru Lingaikya Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamigalavaru, the 23rd pontiff of Sri Suttur Math. It comes under the aegis of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, and was officially inaugurated by the esteemed founder of Manipal Institutes, Dr. T.M.A.Pai, the then chairman of the Academy of Education, Manipal, Mysore State.
SJCE is the first college in Karnataka to introduce Electronics and Communication branch of engineering in the year 1968. Then followed Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation (1978), Computer Science and Engineering 1982), Information Science and Engineering (2000). Many Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses were also started.
SJCE campus is spread over 120 acres adjacent to Manasa Gangothri (the campus of the University of Mysore) and the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing. The beautiful and vibrant college is located inside The JSS Technical Institutions Campus, University Of Mysore Campus, Mysuru, Karnataka. The Institution serves as one of the major landmarks of the western part of Mysore, with its sprawling campus and several recognizable buildings.
Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering is a Constituent College of JSS Science and Technology University and managed under JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru. It was recognized and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. The college has been conferred Autonomous Status by, the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and governed by the grant-in-aid rules of the Govt. of Karnataka. It has been selected as Lead Institute for Assistance by World Bank under Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP) Scheme of Government of India scheme and has been granted a generous and sumptuous Rs.20 crores. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked it 158 among Engineering Colleges in 2022.
SJCE offers several courses at the UG, PG and Doctoral level such as BE, MTech, MBA, MCA, and PhD on both Full Time and Part Time modes. However, the institute is mainly known for its flagship BE course and admission is strictly based on qualifying exams like KCET and COMED K. The Institute accepts a valid KCET score followed by counselling rounds for BE admission. Candidates can also apply for the MBA and MCA programs which are offered for a duration of 2 years. Candidates must have a valid PGCET score to apply for the SJCE PG programs. The institute also offers PhD programs and admission to this course is based on the merit-basis.
Non-formal Educational program - SJCE also organizes several Continuing Education Programs every year, catering to a large group of users, including working professionals.
