The Management Committee of the S.K.P.D &Charities founded Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts and Science College for Women to promote Women’s Education in 1999. The foundation stone of the college building was laid by the then Education Minister Mr.K.Anbazhagan and he also graced the inaugural function.

Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts & Science College is located in the busiest commercial area in Chennai. The Committee of Management have deep faith in Sanathana Dharma and therefore gave emphasis to rich Indian tradition for the development of the personality of Young Indian Women, imparting values of compassion, tolerance, understanding, care, service and love. They believe in motivating the student community by inculcating value system in them, through 3P’s i.e Perseverance, Performance and Progress.

Today with the combined efforts of SKPC FAMILY, the institution has 115 Teaching & Non-Teaching staff, 1857 students and 12 UG, 3 PG, one M.Phil. (Commerce) and one Full Time & Part Time Ph.D.(Commerce) programme.

The Institution has completed 24 successful years of experience in the field of education. In the journey of SKPC, 8313 number of students have graduated successfully and 528 students have secured University Top Ten Ranks.

The Institution is affiliated to the University of Madras. The curriculum is formulated and framed by the University of Madras (CBCS Pattern-Choice Based Credit System) to enhance and enrich students’ knowledge in different disciplines.

The institution is reaccredited by NAAC, ISO certified, obtained 2f and Linguistic Telugu Minority status.

ELIGIBILITY : PG COURSES

M.COM., : A Candidate who has passed the B.Com., B.Com.,(Corporate Secretaryship), B.B.A., B.Com (Bank Management), B.A.(Co-op), B. A.(Indus. Org), B.Sc.(Mathematics), B.Sc.(Computer Science) or B.C.A with any two core/Main papers offered at the B.Com is eligible.

M.Sc., (CS): A Candidate who has passed any Bachelor’s Degree having studied Computer Science/Information Technology/B.C.A or any other equivalent degree recognized by university of Madras.

Placement Experience: In 5th and 6th sem students are eligible for campus interview and placements Companies like Sutherland, Accenture, Tata, IBM, etc more than 50 companies are busted and this year 350 students are selected. The highest package offered is 58000.

Auditorium
Auditorium is a place where all the activities & functions like National conference, intercollegiate events, fresher’s day function, union inauguration etc., take place. Our college auditorium has state of art audio-visual equipment it promises to make events unforgettable.
Canteen
Our college canteen is functioning to serve hygienically prepared quality food to the staff and students. The Students can easily refresh themselves by having a variety of snacks and meals. Two canteens are available to provide traditional South Indian food as well as North Indian food at reasonable rates.
Counselling Center
Counselling is concerned primarily and systematically with the personal development of the students. It plays a major role in preventing students from addressing issues of depression, stress culture shock and also help them to have a smooth educational experience.

Counselling makes the students to understand their needs, potential, rational and irrational urges and other factors of their own nature so as to obtain a realistic self image and encourage them to reach a stage or stage of self autonomy.
