B.E

Eligibility to join the 4 year Bachelor of Engineering courses of the Visvesvaraya Technological University is a pass in the two – year Pre University Examination (Science) conducted by the Karnataka State Pre University Board or any other examination recognised by the University as equivalent thereto, subject to their having obtained a 45% ( 40% for SC/ST ,Cat I,IIA, IIB,IIIA & IIIB ) of marks in aggregate in the three subjects of Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following subjects namely Chemistry, Biology & Biotechnology.

M.Tech

Eligibility to join the 2 year Master of Technology course of the Visvesvaraya Technological University is a pass in the Bachelors Degree course in Mechanical Engineering from AICTE recognized University subject to aggregate of 50% of marks for General Category and 45% marks for SC/ST, Cat I,IIA, IIB,IIIA & IIIB. Candidates should have appeared from PGCET/GATE.

Diploma

Eligibility to join the 3 year Diploma of Engineering courses of the Directorate of Technical Education is a pass in the SSLC Examination conducted by the Karnataka State Secondary Examination Board or X Standard or any other examination recognised by or as equivalent thereto , subject to their having obtained a 35% aggregate.

Scholarship

Students can avail government scholarships such as SC/ST/OBC schemes, along with merit-based financial assistance for eligible candidates.

Training and Placement Cell of SRSIT is established with a goal of not only securing placements for students but also to make them competent enough to face the corporate world. Training and Placement Department is headed by an Experienced Placement Officer Mrs. Sowmya R Raghavendra, assisted by Placement coordinators from all departments. We view it as a medium or way which provides vertical mobility to our students. The department is provided with all the facilities to enable the deserving students of the Institution to get competitive placements. The college has an exclusive placement & training department to facilitate on- campus and off campus placement opportunities to the students.

All the modules have been automated including OPAC (Online Public Accesses catalogue) Further OPAC facility has been extended to all the respective departments Through wireless network to enable staff and students to use this facilities

Library is equipped with 12 nos of Pentium –IV Computers and one dedicated Server ; all networked with Netlib software Internet Facility is 24 X 7 hrs as the type of connectivity is lease line, Firewall Protected and permitted only to Browse e-journals and websites Like DELNET, BITES etc.A Physical Education Director, imparts training in Cricket, FootBall, Volley Ball, Throw Ball, carrom , Badminton etc., and is very actively involved in the various Sports tournaments conducted by the University and also at the State Level.The Institute has well furnished separate hostels for boys and girls with modern amenities and conveniences. It has well furnished rooms. Hostels have common rooms with TV, music, reading room and mess facility.
