Sri Sairam Institute of Technology (Autonomous) SSIT is a Top Class College of Engineering & Technology in Chennai. It was established in the year 2008 by MJF. Ln. Leo Muthu, Chairman of the Sapthagiri Educational Trust, a non-profit, non-minority Institution. Imbibed with the message of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba, the Chairman, ventured into the realm of providing quality technical education to both urban and rural students from Tamil Nadu as well as other states. The chairman is a known visionary and he has to his credit, various other enterprises such as Real Estate, Industry and various Educational Institutions. The groups of colleges under the trusts offer education across technical, management studies, research, shipping science and alternative medicine streams and more. The campus is a huge 25 Acres and the College is functioning at the mentioned address near the well-known fascinating Theme Water Park, “Kishkinta”. The college buildings are architecturally designed as per AICTE norms. Tambaram Railway Station and Tambaram Inter-City Bus Stand are 11 Kms from the College and Chennai International Airport is around 17 Kms away. At Sri Sairam Institute of Technology Training and Placement (TAP) is an integral part of the institution. The institution has provided complete infrastructure for effective functioning of the cell. The cell is sensitized to function all through the tenure of four years towards generating placement opportunities through training the students. The Recruitment of fresh engineering graduates by all leading manufacturing sectors, IT sectors and product companies have been focusing on “Industry 5.0”. Training activities are organized with dynamism ensuring successful efforts towards preparing the students for the talent acquisition processes of the recruiters. As per the latest Placement Statistics made available by the College for the year 2022-23 out of a Total of 452 Students, 433 were eligible for Placement through Campus Recruitment. 347 students (80.14%) were finally placed with some opting for Entrepreneurship and a few for Higher Studies. 134 Students were placed in the Rs 5 LPA to 10 LPA Salary Band.

Admission Procedure

For B.E./B.Tech programs, candidates must have completed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Admissions are facilitated through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) process. Applicants are required to register online via the official TNEA portal, submit necessary documents, and participate in the counseling sessions. Seat allotment is based on the TNEA merit list, which considers the candidates' academic performance in the qualifying examination.

M.E - 2 Year Course

Admission Process

• Shortlisted candidates must participate in the counseling process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu.

MBA / MCA - 2 Year Course

• Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Candidates should have a bachelor's degree with Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 level or at the graduate level.

Training Plan

A visionary training program is planned in such a way to train the students of all disciplines in various emerging technologies depending upon their area of interest. The TAP Cell ensures that the learning communities are extensively exposed in acquiring knowledge and getting diversified skills to be successful industry ready professionals, aspirants for higher studies and winning entrepreneurs in the chosen spheres.

A special training is designed for the circuit branch students i.e (CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, EIE, ICE) program to enhance coding skills in ‘C, Java & Python’, and for the non-circuit branch (MECH, CIVIL, PROD) students will be trained in Autocad, Catia, ProE and PLM to enhance their skills in core areas.

AMCAT Test

“AMCAT” assessment platform is used by all students to get practice in Six different areas like Writex (English), Logical, Quants, (Aptitude), Automata Fix (Debugging), Automata (Coding), SVAR (Speech Voice Adaptive Rating). A mock interview and a domain specific test are also conducted to evaluate the students’ readiness before the campus hiring assessment by recruiters.

The TAP cell ensures that every student in the campus is shown/offered adequate platforms like Skillrack, SAIL, NPTEL and others to acquire the needed skill sets and knowledge for successful placement.

PEGA Training:

We have introduced a niche training program from the year 2019 in ‘PEGA’ a specialized financial tool being used by all multinational banks across the Globe.
We are proud of saying that we are one among the 14 training facility centres for ‘PEGA-UAP’ across India to train the students to get certified in PEGA. The PEGA certified professionals are getting special employment opportunities with a high package of 16 Lakh and with a minimum package of 6 Lakh from top leading software companies through an exclusive drive for PEGA professionals

Scholarship

1. Leo Muthu Scholarship (LMS)

Named after the founder of the Sairam Group, the Leo Muthu Scholarship is awarded to students based on academic merit and financial need. In the 2022–2023 academic year, scholarship amounts ranged from ₹5,000 to ₹1,73,500, depending on individual eligibility and criteria.

2. Academic Merit Scholarship

To encourage academic excellence, SSIT offers merit scholarships to students who achieve high cumulative marks in their semesters:

85% to 87%: ₹5,000
Above 87% but below 90%: ₹10,000

3. Departmental Merit Scholarships

Individual departments, such as Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) and Information Technology (IT), recognize top-performing students with merit scholarships. These awards are typically based on CGPA and other academic achievements.

The institution is easily accessible from Tambaram Railway Station and Chennai Airport by the state operated transport service. The college owns a fleet of nearly 200 buses which cover nearly 125 routes in and around Chennai.
