Sriram College of Arts & Science was instituted in the year 1998. It is affiliated to the University of Madras & approved by the AICTE and Government of Tamilnadu. It is located at Perumalpattu near Veppampattu Railway Station. It has successfully served the society for the past 16 years and its service continues with current developments enriching the students and guiding the youngsters to pursue knowledge and higher education.
The college provides all facilities like Library, Computers, Internet, Laboratories, Language Lab and Sports activities to meet the needs of the new upgraded pattern of education under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). Hostel facility is provided with wholesome nutritious food and care. Buses ply on specific routes, enabling the students from different parts of the city to reach the college on time.
The college believes that education does not end in a classroom. It is interested in the development of students who will play an important role in building a tradition that will endure through the years to come. The College enables the students to become ideal citizens realizing the responsibilities to execute their duties with utmost perfection. Admissions at Sriram College of Arts & Science is either Merit-based or first come first serve basis. Candidates for courses like B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, M.Com are selected on the basis of first come first serve.

Scholarships

Scholarship For Govt. of Tamil Nadu
Students can avail SC/ST Scholarship awarded by the state/central government to pursue the UG /PG courses whose parentally income does not exceed Rs. 2 Lakhs.

Sriram Scholarship Fund
Sriram Educational Trust has created “Sriram Scholarship Fund” with a corpus fund of Rs. 5 crores to provide financial assistance to the needy deserving students of Sriram Educational Institutions. Under this , Rs.40 lakhs scholarship is given every year to Sriram College of Arts & Science for the following category of students:

Meritorious, academically strong with high Cumulative Grade Point (on merit basis).
Meritorious and economically poor.
Very poor but above average in academics.

Auditorium
The college is having a huge indoor auditorium with a professionally-deployed acoustic system and a seating capacity of about 1200 people. This auditorium has an immense pride of having hosted several National Level Symposia and Conferences. There is also a mini-auditorium with a pleasing acoustic system and a seating capacity of about 300 people to host campus-level events.

Mentoring and counselling centre
Every teaching staff is attached with 15 students and take care of the academic related counseling and also monitor the attendance and academic progress of the students. They also maintain contacts with the parents of the students. In general students suffer from mental stress resulting in depression, anxiety, adjustmental disorder, personality disorder, difficulty in handling relationships (with peers, family members,…,) and substance abuse. In such cases students are reffered or directed to professional counsellors who are available all the time in the campus. Counsellors help to resolve and avoid potential problems and also help students to make constructive changes.

Hostel
The college is having fully furnished separate hostels for boys and girls. The Boys Hostel can accommodate 250 students and the Girls Hostel, 150 students. Both hostels are facilitated with well-equipped Gyms to provide the students an opportunity to keep themselves physically fit. A common mess complex with a Bio-gas Plant for cooking purposes and a plinth area of 3800 sqm is available to accommodate dining halls for boys, girls, staff and guests separately. Government Certified visiting doctor Dr. B. Srinivasan ensures prompt solutions to health problems of the inmates. 24hrs Reverse Osmosis plant water supply to the hostel, mess and the entire campus..

Library
The Sriram College of Arts and Science Library is the soul of the institution and it acquires, processes, preserves and disseminates information to the user community with the motto of empowering knowledge. It has an extensive collection of books, reference materials for satisfying the academic and research needs of the students and faculty. The Library and Information Centre consists a Reference Section, Circulation Section, Periodical Section. The library has automated all its library activities to provide effective and wide range of academic resources such as books, journals, online databases.
New Suggestions: The library always encourages all students and faculty to recommend new books in order to strengthen their collection. The students and faculty members can also suggest new titles by completing necessary formalities.

Proximity to Railway Station
The serene eco friendly green campus is at 1 km from Veppampattu Railway Station which is situated at 35kms from Chennai Central Station on Chennai – Tiruvallur Rail Route. Frequent train service is available to Veppampattu Railway station from Chennai, Beach, Ennore, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur and Tiruttani.

The college is located very near to Veppampattu Railway Station and it is 35 Km from Chennai Central easily accessible by rail and road. Bus No 54V from T.
