SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani (also known as SRM Vadapalani) is a campus of SRM IST, Kattankulathur, Chennai (Deemed-to-be university).   Established in 2011, SRM Vadapalani offers UG, PG and Doctoral programs in multiple streams and has educational collaborations with international universities and colleges in the USA, UK, Korea, New Zealand and Switzerland.  

The City Campus of SRM Institute of Science and Technology is located in a sprawling campus of more than 5 acres at the heart of the metropolitan city in the University Building, C – Block, No.1, 100 Feet Road, Jawaharlal Nehru Salai, Adjacent to SIMS Hospital, Vadapalani, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.  It is well connected by road, rail and air.  Apart from the public transport, college buses are also available for transporting the staff and students from various parts of the city.

SRM Vadapalani is accredited by NAAC with A++ Grade and is approved by AICTE.   It also has accreditation from UGC under Category I and MHRD with Category A. 

SRM Vadapalani offers UG, PG & Doctoral programs in various streams of Engineering, Management, Computer Application, Hotel Management and Humanities including BTech, MTech, Ph.D, BBA, MBA, BCom, MCom,BCA, MCA, BSc (various programs in Humanities) and Diploma in Hotel Management.  With a university learning experience, it conducts its own entrance exams namely SRMJEEE, JEE Main, GATE, TANCET, GMAT, CAT, MAT, NMAT, XAT, CMAT, etc for admission and has brought together creativity and innovation in its teaching pedagogy with its global partnerships.  It has a record of sponsoring over 150 students to 35 foreign universities such as MIT, Carnegie Mellon, UC Davis, Warwick and Western Australia.

Every year, just before the commencement of placement season, an extensive in-house training program is extended. The objective is to refresh all the core concepts and technologies which the student has learnt over the three years and get them ready for the hiring process. The university has a library in the Art of the academic center at Vadapalani Campus. It is designed to meet the information needs of the SRM Institute of Science and Technology. The Library has large collections of books, CDs, Journals, and Magazines covering various branches of Engineering & Technology, Science and Humanities, and their related fields The library is located in 'C' block, 1st floor, 'D' wing covering an area of 7500 sq. ft. with a seating capacity of 150. Sports
The University has South-West Inter-University Chess Tournament held at MGR College, Hosur from 29th September to 4th October 2009. The defending champions stamped their authority over the event as they successfully defended the title by scoring 27 points out of a possible 36. Sports;- Volleyball, Badminton, Chess, Basketball, Cricket.
I.T Infrastructure
The University has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.
Laboratories
The University has all the laboratories equipped to meet the standards of engineering education which will definitely kindle innovation and research in young minds leading to all-around development.

Boys Hostel
The University has 2 blocks allotted for Men with a capacity of 60 students in each block. The total capacity for Men’s hostel is about 120.

Girls Hostel
The University has Separate hostels for Women available. Students who are desirous of staying in the hostel are advised to contact the Vadapalani Campus Office (C-Block). University buses will be operated for the hostel girls to commute between Ramapuram Girls Hostel and Vadapalani Campus.

The University has Banks/ATM facilities for all students. ICICI and CUB ATM facilities are available inside the premises
