St. Joseph's Institute of Technology, Chennai is a part of the St. Joseph’s Group of Institutions. It is a private autonomous Engineering College located in Chennai, established in the year 2011. Dr.B.Babu Manoharan, M.A.,M.B.A.,Ph.D. is the Chairman.

SJIT is set in a sprawling 34 acre campus located on Old Mahabalipuram Rd, Kamaraj Nagar, Semmancheri, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The courses offered have received accreditation from the NBA.

St. Joseph's Institute of Technology offers several popular courses in fields such as Engineering and Business & Management Studies, mostly in Full Time mode. It offers various UG and PG level courses with 6 UG courses - B.E. programs in CSE, ECE, EEE & Mech. Engineering, B.Tech (IT) and B.Tech (Artificial Intelligence & Data Science). It also offers MBA and Ph.D programs. The courses are offered to students to fulfill the eligibility criteria of both merit and entrance based process. Admissions at the college are mostly merit-based. TNEA is the accepted exam score for YG Programs.

The management has introduced a merit scholarship of INR 23.35 lakhs to meritorious students who have secured university ranks. Apart from this the institutions have instituted scholarships worth INR 1.5 Crores for Class Toppers. Many of the students have received the “Innovative Student Project Award” instituted by The Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) New Delhi and Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Kozhikode. The College has produced more than 90% of results consistently right from its inception.

The pride of the College is its highly experienced and dedicated Faculty. A total of about 160 faculty with 51 Doctorates and another 49 doing Ph.D have always strived not only to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving tech-world, but also to create an environment where innovation and change is nurtured, resulting in a technically thriving society.

Spreading over an area of 34 acres and total built-up area of over 15,13,930 Sq. Ft., SJIT campus has been designed to fulfill the needs and expectations of engineering students. The college boasts of a splendid infrastructure with state-of-the-art A/V enabled smart Classrooms, Library, Book bank, Laboratories, Workshops and Exam Halls, Sophisticated Audio-Visual Theatres, Conference Halls and Auditorium, Well-equipped Hostels, Dining Halls, Gym, Sports facilities, Stationery/Co-operative store, Internet/Wi-Fi Facility, Dispensary, and much more. The Institute has twelve Audio-visual halls for conducting seminars and other Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and to lose, it teaches you about life. Our college offers exclusive care to players involved in various sports activities and it takes every step to ensure that sports are given equal importance as academics. It is an undeniable fact that our college was the pioneer to start sports quota admissions in the state and this was followed by all the other reputed institutions. And now, were have the highest intake of sports students. In the current batch around 78 students have been admitted through sports quota. Students admitted through sports quota have to undergo rigorous filtering process by playing their respective games against their seniors or among themselves where they will be evaluated on their performance.

The Colleges have twelve Audio-visual halls for conducting seminars and other Co-curricular and Extra-curricular activities.

• All the class rooms are equipped with LCD projectors and necessary teaching aids.

• The student co-operative store supplies all text books, notebooks, records, observations, drawing boards, minidrafters, etc.

• The stationery stores supply all drawing sheets, graph sheets, polar sheets, pen, pencil and other essential materials. The store which is situated in the campus provides items for day to day use.

• We have separate sections for printing and binding lab manuals, notebooks materials, mini-project reports, Inplant training reports and final year project reports free of cost.

• The Indian Bank branches in the colleges assist the students in their financial transactions. We have four separate ATMs functioning for boys and girls in both colleges.

• The colleges have two sophisticated Gymnasiums for boys and girls.

• We have intercom facilities which connect everyone in the college. In the hostel, all the rooms have intercom connections.

Transport

The college provides an excellent transportation facility for students and staff. There are 37 buses with speed governors and first aid kits. There are separate buses for first-year pupils. It is exclusively operated for U.G and P.G. first year students.

This transportation facilty minimizes the number of accidents and late arrivals at the college by covering all routes for staff and students in Chennai’s city and outskirts. There are also in house maintenance facilities for all services and repairs.
