St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering (Autonomous) - SXCCE is a Christian Minority, Self-Financing, Autonomous and Co-Education College which is owned, administered and run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kuzhithurai, under the able leadership of the Bishop, Most. Rev. Dr. Albert Anasthas, the present Chairman of the college, from the bifurcation of the Diocese of Kuzhithurai from the Diocese of Kottar in December, 2014. SXCCE was started in 1998 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kottar, under the nurturing leadership of (the Late) Bishop, Most. Rev. Dr. Leon A. Tharmaraj, who coordinated the initiatives and efforts of the laity and the clergy of the diocese.
St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering (Autonomous) is located at : Chunkankadai, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District on a beautiful 25 Acres Campus at the lap of the Western Ghats at Chunkankadai in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu, overlooking the Nagercoil-Thiruvananthapuram National Highway (NH 47). Lush green paddy fields and plantain farms spread their arms around the college and gentle breeze caresses it. Nagercoil Railway Station is 6 Kms from the College and Thiruvananthapuram Airport is 110 Kms away.
St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering (Autonomous) is approved by the All India Council for Technical Training (AICTE), New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council accredited to the college and rated it as Grade-A. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited a majority of the Under Graduate Academic Courses of the College like ECE, EEE, Civil, Mechanical, CSE and IT. The College was conferred with Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2022. The College is ISO 9001:2000 certified. In 2011, the Department of EEE, ECE, Mechanical and CSE were recognized as Research Centres by Anna University, Chennai.

The Training and Placement Cell at St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering (Autonomous) regularly offers both internal and external training programs aimed at preparing students for emerging opportunities in the job market. The TPC is equipped with two soft skills trainers, five coding skills trainers, and one quantitative aptitude trainer. From the 3rd to the 7th semester, 10% of the total academic schedule is dedicated to placement training. “TechMindz,” a series of competitions focused on verbal abilities, coding skills, and quantitative aptitude, is organized for students across all four years in both odd and even semesters. Participants are rewarded with cash prizes and certificates. Training in Quantitative Aptitude & Logical Reasoning is provided during the 6th and 7th semesters to enhance students' problem-solving abilities. This training focuses on developing rational thinking and analytical skills, involving tasks such as solving equations, interpreting data, and making logical deductions. Students are introduced to company-specific patterns, with continuous training provided to improve their speed and accuracy. In addition to internal training, external company-specific training in quantitative aptitude, technical skills, and managerial soft skills is provided through partnerships with FACE, Smart Training Solutions, Ethnus, and Innate Training Solutions.
The Training and Placement Cell is located in the Bishop Leon Memorial Block, featuring a state-of-the-art conference hall, a dedicated placement office, two group discussion halls, and eight interview panel rooms. Additionally, the cell houses a Soft-Skills Training Center that conducts comprehensive sessions focusing on effective communication and interpersonal skills. The Flutter Frog incubator, launched in April 2023, is managed by Mr. Gokul Kumar, an alumni entrepreneur, within the SXCCE Innovation and Incubation Cell. As of July 5, 2023, 17 interns from the current third and final years were selected to work on research and development of a software product as full-stack developers. The Training and Placement Cell maintains strong relationships with various industries, inviting them for on-campus recruitment drives. It supports students in securing placements with multinational companies, ensuring a smooth transition into their professional careers.
