Star Lion College of Engineering and Technology is a well-known educational institute in the famous Temple Town of Thanjavur in South Tamil Nadu.  It was established in the year 2010 by Srimathi Renganayaki under the aegis of Sri Sriramulu Educational and Public Charitable Trust. This College of Engineering Excellence, which began its journey in a small village in Thanjavur, was driven by a vision to provide quality higher education to aspiring students from nearby villages in the remote districts of Southern Tamil Nadu. SLCET is located in 13 acres of greenery in a serene atmosphere on the Thanjavur – Kumbakonam State Highway, Main Road, Manankorai, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. Functioning in a buildup area of 1, 23,000 square feet, the college is 10 kms from Thanjavur Old Bus Stand.

Star Lion College of Engineering and Technology is approved by AICTE, New Delhi (SRO 2010-1-6588841 dated 2 Aug 2010) and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.  The college is a Life member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) as well as the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Holder which is a matter of pride.

The college promotes high-end engineering education and offers various UG and PG programs in the field of Engineering and Technology.  The courses offered include B.E (in 6 disciplines), B.Tech CSE (AIDS), and M.E (Structural Engineering).  The courses reflect the challenging trends in the industry for the students to become globally competent professionals. The fees structure for these courses is as per Tamil Nadu State Government norms.  To provide visionary education for needy and deserving students, who do not have access for good quality technical education, the college provides several scholarships.
