Stella Mary's College of Engineering (Autonomous) SMCE is a Private, Self Financing, Non Minority, Autonomous and Co Education College which was established in the year 2012 by Dr Nazareth Charles, an entrepreneur and Founder of the Nova Educational Trust and a former Indian Navy Officer. He is the Chairman of the Management Committee of Stella Mary's College of Engineering. Late Mrs Mary Stella Charles was the Secretary while Mr Carol Judeson is the CEO and Mrs Sumitha C Judeson is the Vice Chairman.

Stella Mary's College of Engineering is located at Aruthenganvilai, Kallukatti Junction, Azhikal Post, Kanyakumari Dist on a 40 Acres campus surrounded by greenery and coconut groves. A very serene and picturesque :Station is 10 Kms from the College while Thiruvananthapuram Airport is 90 kms away.

Stella Mary's College of Engineering is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the College and given it a grading of "B". The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited the Mechanical Engineering and CSE Courses.

Stella Mary's College of Engineering has a Career Guidance, Placement and Training Cell. The Placement Cell is responsible for registering student names and collecting their resumes along with mark details. It also organizes soft skills workshops to train and groom students for the job market. The cell prepares brochures for various departments and invites prospective companies to campus for recruitment. On the day of the interview, it arranges the necessary facilities and ensures a smooth process. Additionally, the cell collects appointment letters from companies and distributes them to selected students. It keeps students informed about various competitive examinations and strives to achieve the maximum possible placements for them.

The Placement Officer has additional responsibilities, including preparing and sending department brochures to prospective companies by April each year, coordinating with companies to schedule interview dates, and arranging interview facilities on campus. They also receive company personnel, provide them with relevant information about the college, and ensure coordination with student representatives. After interviews, the Placement Officer collects appointment letters and distributes them to students, along with handling acceptance letters.
