ABOUT THE COLLEGE

In the New Millenium 2000, with the aim of spreading Arabic, Arts, Science and Management education, the Mohamed Sathak Trust approached the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Madurai Kamaraj University for establishing a College of Arts & Science in Kilakarai, Ramanathapuram District. The Government of Tamil Nadu accepted the proposal of the Mohamed Sathak Trust and granted permission for the establishment of a College in its G.O. MS No. 214 dt. 13.06.2000, under Self-Financing Scheme. This College is named after their mother and is called Syed Hameedha Arts & Science College. Now it is affiliated to the Alagappa University, Karaikudi.

The Syed Hameedha Arts & Science College is open to the students of all castes, creeds and classes. The College believes in Secularism, National Integration and Communal Harmony.

The major aim of the Syed Hameedha Arts & Science College is to provide high quality education to the youth. The basics of higher education namely, effective teaching, training and motivating the students to respond carefully and intelligently to newest, updates in Arts, Science, Technology and Management studies are given priority.

Our vision is to produce highly competent employable graduates and post graduates through continual improvement of the standard of excellence in teaching, training and research.

MISSION
We commit ourselves to provide Arabic, Arts, Science & Computer education to enable students to excel in their pursuit of knowledge and preparation for academic and professional career in an environment that builds characters, personality, discipline, decency and decorum in them. We rely on our continuously upgraded faculty, supporting and service staff and infrastructure as the means for realizing the quality.

Admission :-
The eligibility for admission is a pass in +2 Examination and not less than16 years of age on 1st July of the corresponding year.
The following certificates should be produced at the time of admission:

Original and Photocopies of Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate, +2 Mark Statement and Community Certificate
Two passport size and one stamp size photographs
Six self addressed stamped envelopes

The eligibility for admission is a pass in UG degree Examination.
The following certificates should be produced at the time of admission:

Original and Photocopies of Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate, UG degree/ Provisional, Consolidated mark sheet and Community Certificate.
Two passport size and one stamp size photographs

Instruction to the Candidates
1.All day scholars should come to college only by the college bus after paying the prescribed bus fare for the semester / Year.

2.The candidate should satisfy himself with respect to eligibility before registering the application and admission.

3.The application form is to be filled legibly in the candidates own handwriting.

The Management of Syed Hameedha Arts & Science College reserves the right to change the fee structure, regulation which affect the students or make any other suitable modification, deemed necessary in the interest of the institution or the profession.

Changes in the Prospectus will be done at the discretion of the Management.
The selection of candidates for the course will be done at the discretion of the selection committee of the Management.
The committee of the Management is not bound to take any responsibility regarding any risk or loss to the candidates.
All the rules and regulations laid by the Trust should strictly be adhered to by all candidates.
Authorities
The college authority reserves the right to cancel the admission of a student and expel him/her without returning the fees.

If there is any discrepancy between the certificates produced and entries made in the application form.
If any suppression of facts is discovered
On ground of serious irregularity of attendance, disobedience or indiscipline in the college.
Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Placement Committee
The prime objective of College Development Committee (CDC) is to prepare a comprehensive development plan of the institute on annual basis like academic, placement, infrastructure, administrative, and admission growth.

Objectives
The committee mainly focuses on

To guide students to choose right career and to give knowledge, skill, and aptitude and meet the manpower requirements of the Industry.
To assist students to develop/clarify their academic and career interests, and their short and long-term goals through individual counselling and group sessions.
To assist students for industrial training at the end of the fourth and sixth semester.

Responsibilities
It gives recommendations to the management to encourage and strengthen research culture, consultancy and extension activities, academic collaborations, use of ICT in teaching learning, training facility to staff. It recommends management for approval of the Annual financial statements & Budget.
