Tagore Engineering College - TEC is a Top Class Engineering College in Chennai. It was established by the Tagore Educational Trust. Dr M Makla is the Chairperson cum Managing Trustee and Mr J Rajasekar and Mr J Harinarayanamoorthy are the Trustees. The College was established in the year 1998. The objective of establishing the institution was to provide quality education in the field of Engineering and Management, inculcating strong ethical values. The college has a mission to build resources and sustain a high quality teaching and learning environment, to provide state-of-the-art facilities to the faculty & students, to integrate character, ethical and moral values into human resources. The policies implemented by the management provide ample opportunities to the students and the staff to achieve excellence in academic and related areas.

Tagore Engineering College is built on a sprawling 45 Acres Campus of land and has separate blocks for engineering , management and administration apart from individual state-of-the-art lab facilities for physics, chemistry, engineering mechanics, CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, CIVIL, MECH, AI&DS and Aeronautical Departments. Vandalur Railway (Suburban and South Bound Long Distance Trains) is 8 Kms, Kelambakkam Inter-City Bus Terminus 15 Kms and Chennai International Airport is 20 Kms away from the College. There is good connectivity of Transport to all vantage points in the City and close by through Public Transport.

Tagore Engineering College is approved by the All India Council for Technical Training (AICTE) and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited the CSE, ECE, IT and MBA programs for the 3-Year cycle from 2024-2027. The College is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a good "A" Grade. In 2022, Times ranked Tagore Engineering College 131st for B.E. / B.Tech and also as the 9th Best among Engineering Colleges in Chennai.

Admission Procedure

Tagore Engineering College, located in Rathinamangalam, Vandalur Post, Chennai, offers admissions for the academic year 2025–2026 through both government counseling and management quota. For undergraduate (B.E./B.Tech) programs, candidates must have completed their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent, with selection primarily based on performance in the +2 examinations and participation in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling conducted by Anna University. Alternatively, students may apply directly under the Management Quota by obtaining the application form from the college office.
