It is recognized and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), formerly known as the Medical Council of India. As a government medical institution, TMCH follows the standards and curriculum laid down by the NMC. Though not a ranking-oriented institution, TMCH is reputed in the region for offering quality medical education and efficient hospital services.
The main academic unit is the Medical College itself, which includes departments in pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical disciplines. The campus houses administrative offices, academic blocks, hospital buildings, hostels, a library, and residential quarters for faculty and staff. TMCH also has a nursing college and plans for further expansion with allied health science programs.
