Thakur Junior College was established in 1992, by the founding members, with the notion of providing an avenue of learning within easy reach to the growing young population of Kandivali and its vicinity. It was a natural augmentation by the Thakur Educational Trust, for the S.S.C. Pass-out students of the various schools as well as Thakur Vidya Mandir. Thakur College had a humble beginning with only 57 students in FYJC first batch of Commerce stream. Its success led to the commencement of the Junior Science stream and the Degree College in 1997 followed by the Post Graduate section in 2002.

Our college has accomplished a spectacular growth over the last two decades of its journey towards excellence in Education and emerged as a leading Higher Educational Institution in Mumbai. The present total strength of our Degree College [Science & Commerce] is 7587 and the Junior Section is of 5867 students. The College has consistently attained outstanding results in academics at both Degree & Junior levels.

ADMISSION

TCSC B.Sc. Eligibility Criteria
The candidate shall have passed HSC examination in Science stream conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent degree from other boards.

Computer Science
Candidates shall have passed H.S.C. Examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent and have secured not less than 40% marks in aggregate with Mathematics or Statistics as one of Subject.
Information Technology
The candidate shall have passed H.S.C. examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects and have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks in case of reserved category candidate)
Students who have passed a diploma in Computer Eng. / Computer Science / Computer Technology / IT / Electronics / Allied branches, diploma in Computer Eng. / Computer Science / Computer Technology will be eligible for direct admission to the second year of B.Sc. IT.
Biotechnology
A Candidate for being eligible for admission to the three-year integrated course leading to the B.Sc. (Biotechnology) degree course must have passed the H.S.C. (Std. XII) examination in Science conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its Equivalent in Science Stream.
Aviation
A candidate for being eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Aviation) must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Standard XII) examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education. Pune or an examination of any other Government recognized board as equivalent thereto, with the subject English, Physics and Mathematics
A Candidate who has passed post-SSC, Three-year Engineering / Technology /diploma course with Mathematics and Physics.
A candidate is required to successfully carry out a Class II MEDICAL EXAMINATION before commencing flying training.
For CPL Holders, valid current CPL with class I medical certificate from DGCA Medical centers.
TCSC BMM & BMS Eligibility Criteria
A candidate for being eligible for admission to both the BMM & BMS course must have passed the H.S.C (XII Std.) examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto.

TCSC BMM & BMS Selection Criteria
BMM selections are done based on the merit of class 12
50% of the candidates for BMS will be selected based on scores in the Centralised Common Entrance Examination (CCEE) of the Mumbai University and the other 50% of the seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to Hindi Speaking Linguistic Minority and the other.

Selection in M.Com & M.Sc. Thakur College of Science and Commerce is done based on the merit of graduation degree in relevant fields.
