Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) is the best college of engineering in Tamilnadu. Founded in 1957 by philanthropist and industrialist Late Shri.Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar. Mr K Hari Thiagarajan is the current Chairman and Correspondent of TCE. The college is funded by the Central and State Governments and the College Management.

Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) campus in Madurai, Tamil Nadu is 143 acres. The campus is located near Thenkarai Pond and is about 8 kilometers from the Madurai Airport. The campus has a playground of 17 Acres. The college is located on the outskirts of Madurai, near Thirupparankundram. It is about 8 Kms Southwest of Madurai City, 10 Kms from Madurai Airport and around 2 Kms from Thirupparankundaram Railway Station. The College is well connected by Public Transport.

Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) is a Government Aided Institution and affiliated to Anna University. The courses offered in TCE are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi. TCE was granted Autonomy in the year 1987 and the programmes have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The College is Accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with the highest rating of A++. TCE is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution.In 2024, Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) was ranked 101–150 in the Engineering category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). It was also ranked 25th in the Architecture and Planning category. In 2024, the Times Higher Education ranked TCE 1201st in the Overall category.In 2024, Thiagarajar College was ranked 15th among colleges in India by the NIRF. In 2023, TCE was ranked 101st in the Engineering category by the NIRF.

TCE offers a very wide array of Academic Course options. It has 7 B.E, 2 B.Tech, 1 B.Des, 1 B.Arch, a 5 Year Integrated Degree Program leading to M.Sc Data Science, 4 M.E, 1 M.Plan, 1 MCA and 1 M.Arch programmes. It also offers Ph.D Research in 12 different disciplines.

Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) offers scholarships to students. These scholarships are available to both Undergraduate and International students. UG Scholarships are Alumni Scholarship, Fee Waiver Scheme, International Scholarships, Fellowships or Grants. The college also offers financial assistance programs. The college's Alumni Charitable Trust manages the donations from alumni and uses the interest earned to fund scholarships.
