Thirumurugan Educational and Charitable Trust has started a self-financing Art and Science College by name and style “Thirumurugan Arts and Science College” in the academic year 2000-2001. The college is functioning in its permanent buildings at kosavanpalayam village, Thiruppasur Panchayat, Thiruvallur Taluk. The prime aim of “Thirumurugan Educational and Charitable Trust” is to promote higher education to economically weaker section of the girl students, in Thiruvallur town and nearby villages of Thiruvallur district.

   The College emblem is in a circular shape on a rectangular base. In between the inner and outer Circles, the name of the College .“Thirumurugan Arts and Science College for Women” finds a Place. On rectangular base the motto of the college “Let us spread knowledge” is inscribed. The Lamp, the wick and the rays inside the circle symbolize the class, education and knowledge.

It has a well-Furnished Computer Laboratory.

Each student is provided with a computer so as to get effective practical training

A very good library is maintained with large number of books in all fields .

A hygienic canteen is maintain in the campus

Bank education loans are arranged for poor and needy students

SC/ST/BC/MBC-Tamilnadu Govt.scholarships are provided.

   Most of the Alumni , comprising Under graduates, and Post graduates are well placed in various positions as doctoral, Post doctoral fellows and scientists in reputed national and international laboratories, as decision makers faculty in educational institutions and also in Non-Governmental organizations.
