Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology (TCET), located in Tamil Nadu, is a leading private educational institution in India.  It was founded in the year 1998 by Prof. Dr. S. Arunachalam under the aegis of Varadhammal Manickam Education and Charitable Trust (VMECT]), founded in 1996 as a non-profit organization.  The Trustees are eminent personalities in various walks of life such as Education, Research, Industry, Business, Administration etc.

The private institute has also been accredited with Grade B++ by NAAC.  

 
Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology offers 17 courses in Full Time mode including B.E./ B.Tech, MBA/PGDM, M.E/M.Tech and MCA with stream of Engineering, Business & Management Studies and IT & Software.   Courses offered by institute are well recognized and acknowledged by approving body like AICTE.  The accepted eligibility for UG admission is TNEA/CBSE/12^th exam.

Placements: Almost 99% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered was 5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 2.5 LPA.

INFRASTRUCTURE:

CLASSROOMS:
TCET has hi-tech classrooms with modern equipments that enable faculty to conduct classes in a way that enable students to make use of every available resource from one point at the click of a button. All the classes are monitored by the college administration to check the standard of teaching provided by the faculty via cameras. Each class room has a capacity of 60 students with good lighting and ventilation facilities.

HOSTEL AND DINING:
Every effort has been made to provide the best facilities for students who live on campus. Every student has access to a wide range of activities, facilities and support. TCET has four multistoried hostel blocks (Sapthagiri, Vedhagiri, Nilgiri & Arunagiri Mens hostels) which can accommodate more than 1500 students and a well designed hostel for women with a capacity of 500 students.
A gym facility is also attached with a well maintained swimming pool. Free washinig services are provided in well maintained high technology washing areas.

DINING FACILITIES:
TCET has separate food facilities for students from different states of india, which provides a variety of hygienic food coocked in a traditional and healthy manner.
AN IMPRESSIVE COMPUTER NETWORK:
TCET has an excellent computer network including 3 servers, 20 workstations, 1000 desktops (INTEL), 50 printers and over 500 laptops. The highly distributed computing environment is supported by a WiFi network that enables students and faculties to access the internet 24hrs a day.

SPORTS, GAMES &GYM FACILITIES:
The collage has excellent facilities for outdoor games such as cricket, foot ball, volley ball, and shuttle and indoor games like table tennis , carom and chess . There is a 400-metre athletic track for the benefit of the students. A fully equipped gym is available in the college campus. A beautiful swimming pool is provided in the college.

MEDICAL FACILITY:
A well equipped medical centre is available in the campus for the students with a resident doctor. Students are also provided Ayurvedic treatments to maintain a good health.

TRANSPORT:
The college buses, vans and cars are available for student’s emergency services, student affair, hostel needs and collage needs. A regular bus is operated from Vandavasi town to the college premises for the benefit of visitors.

BANK FACILITES:
Banking facilities are made easy with the KVB ATM located at the college premises, other than that student use SBI, Indian bank, KVB, IOB situated at Vandavasi. Every student is also provided with a KVB bank account by the college for their convenience.

POST OFFICE:
Within the distance of 1 km, there is a post office. However facilities are arranged to pick up the letter and sale of stamps in the campus. The post box with time to clearance is available in the campus.

MEGA BLOCK AND AUDITORIUM:
The MEGA BLOCK holds the entire facilities for all the engineering disciplines, including the classrooms, labs, seminar halls. The classrooms are well equipped with LCD projectors and OHP facilities. An open air theatre with a seating capacity of 3000 is built in the quadrangle of the MEGA BLOCK for conducting functions. A music club with high end speakers, and a movie club which screens a movie every weekend, are extremely functional sources of on-campus entertainment for the students.

MAIN BLOCK:
It houses PG classrooms and labs such as English lab, Internet lab, MCA lab, MSc, lab, Physics lab, Chemistry lab and two large Drawing halls with a capacity of 300 students equipped with hi-tech drawing instruments.

CENTRAL LIBRARY:
The central library of the college is equipped with more than 75,000 books, a large number of Indian and foreign journals and an excellent collection of light reading material. The library also has a large collection of CD’s on technical and management subjects along with the required electronic and digital equipments for the use of staff and students. The library has internet connections for referring to e-journals and to listen to video lectures from other institutions.
The library functions from 8.00 am till 12.00 midnight on all days. The library is spread over an area of 7,500 sq.ft, consisting of book sections, reading rooms, audio and video rooms.
