 About

Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (TSRM MCH&RC), which was established in the year 2008, is a unit of SRM (Sri Ramasamy Memorial) group of educational Institutions which ventured into higher education in 1984, and since then, it has grown and gained recognition at the National and International level.  TSRM MCH&RC is the long felt dream of Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, the Founder Chancellor of the SRM group of institutions. It was his wish to establish a medical college in a rural area, to ensure quality health care delivery to a diverse population.  In recognition of the achievements and contributions of Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, to education including Health care and Technology, he was conferred a doctorate by the Faculty of Technology, Engineering and Environment, Birmingham City University (BCU) of United Kingdom on February 19, 2010 (www.timeschennai.com). The title was conferred for the excellent work rendered by him in the field of Engineering and Technology education.  At present, this institution is headed by Dr.R.Shivakumar, the Chairman of TSRM MCH&RC, who is a dynamic personality with a never ending quest for research.

TSRM MCH&RC college and hospital is spread in a sprawling 32 acre campus located on Chennai - Trichy National Highway 45, SRM Nagar, Kumaramangalam-Panruti Road, Irungalur, Tamil Nadu.  The institute which is surrounded by medical and health sciences colleges which are a part of 7 colleges is located near Irungalur village,  MannachanallurTaluk, north of Tiruchirappalli, about 25 kilometres from Trichy Airport.  It is well connected by road to all the villages and towns in and around the hospital area.

TSRM MCH&RC is a affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai.  The UG & PG degrees are recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), formerly Medical Council of India (MCI).

Trichy SRM MCH&RC offers UG & PG Courses including MBBS, MD/MS and BSc Allied Health Sciences Programs.  The College is functioning as a full-fledged medical college with an annual intake of 250 MBBS students.  TSRM MCH&RC has PG admissions in all Preclinical, Paraclinical& Clinical Broad Specialities.
