Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (TSRM MCH&RC), which was established in the year 2008, is a unit of SRM (Sri Ramasamy Memorial) group of educational Institutions which ventured into higher education in 1984, and since then, it has grown and gained recognition at the National and International level.  TSRM MCH&RC is the long felt dream of Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, the Founder Chancellor of the SRM group of institutions. It was his wish to establish a medical college in a rural area, to ensure quality health care delivery to a diverse population.  In recognition of the achievements and contributions of Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, to education including Health care and Technology, he was conferred a doctorate by the Faculty of Technology, Engineering and Environment, Birmingham City University (BCU) of United Kingdom on February 19, 2010 (www.timeschennai.com). The title was conferred for the excellent work rendered by him in the field of Engineering and Technology education.  At present, this institution is headed by Dr.R.Shivakumar, the Chairman of TSRM MCH&RC, who is a dynamic personality with a never ending quest for research.

TSRM MCH&RC college and hospital is spread in a sprawling 32 acre campus located on Chennai - Trichy National Highway 45, SRM Nagar, Kumaramangalam-Panruti Road, Irungalur, Tamil Nadu.  The institute which is surrounded by medical and health sciences colleges which are a part of 7 colleges is located near Irungalur village,  MannachanallurTaluk, north of Tiruchirappalli, about 25 kilometres from Trichy Airport.  It is well connected by road to all the villages and towns in and around the hospital area.

TSRM MCH&RC is a affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai.  The UG & PG degrees are recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), formerly Medical Council of India (MCI).

Trichy SRM MCH&RC offers UG & PG Courses including MBBS, MD/MS and BSc Allied Health Sciences Programs.  The College is functioning as a full-fledged medical college with an annual intake of 250 MBBS students.  TSRM MCH&RC has PG admissions in all Preclinical, Paraclinical& Clinical Broad Specialities.  

TSRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre provides various facilities and infrastructure to students, faculty and staff members. With each year, the college and hospital continue to flourish and bring world renowned health care to all concerned, while also functioning as a minority institution.  Today the institution is a multi-specialty centre and boasts a 1575 bedded hospital with teaching beds of 1070 that caters to patients from neighbouring villages and from Trichy city.  TSRM MCH&RC was placed among the top 10 emerging medical colleges in India by the India Today-Nielson survey 2016.

Trichy SRM Medical College MBBS Course

For majority of the programs, admission is done through National level entrance examination conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) or authorized /statutory boards or agencies.

The college recorded a 100% hiring rate for PG (3-year) students during placements 2022. The median package offered was INR 10.20 LPA during placements 2022. However, the median package offered to MBBS students was INR 6 LPA during placements 2021.

According to a report the placement rate of SRM TRP in academic year 2022-2023 is 99%, which makes it a perfect option for young students willing to do engineering. Top IT companies like Google, Infosys, TCS, Zoho, etc. comes here every year to recruit students.
