The promoters of UIT are Mr Giridhar Gopal Gulati, Chairman and Dr Jagdish, President of the United Group of Institutions. United Institute of Technology is a part of United Group of Institutions. The College was established in 2009. Shri.S.Shanmugam, is the Founder Chairman of the College and Dr.C.A.Kailash Kumar, is the Managing Trustee. Team UIT is powered by Alumni of GCT, Coimbatore and REC (NIT), Tirchy. UIT’s focus on quality education and training has turned it into a premier technical institution ensuring good placements in a wide range of companies. United Institute of Technology is located at G. Koundampalayam, Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore. It is built on a sprawling campus that spreads over 32 Acres in Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore. While Periyanaickenpalayam Railway Station is about 5 Kms from the College, Coimbatore Junction Railway Station is 23 Kms and Coimbatore Airport is 31 Kms from the College.

United Institute of Technology is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the College and so has the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The College was granted Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for a Ten Year Period commencing 2024-25. The college is an ISO 9001 Certified Institution.

United Institute of Technology has B.E (4) and B.Tech (2) in different disciplines as Academic Programs to select from. United Institute of Technology established the Swayam NPTEL Local chapter during the academic year 2017. The Institution promote students to learn e-contents from NPTEL. Every week at least two hours students will spend time with Swaym NPTEL courses to study as per their academic and additional requirements. Faculty members and students are promoted to learn and clear the assessment for Swayam NPTEL Certifications. So for more than sixty students learned and certified swayam NPTEL courses on various Disciplines. Few students they achieved all India 1st and within 5th Rank. NPTEL has been offering self-study courses across engineering, humanities and science streams for more than a decade. These are available at: http://nptel.ac.in. From March 2014 NPTEL has been offering online certification for its courses, the highlight being the certification exam through which the student gets an opportunity to earn a certificate form the IITs.
