Admission Procedure

The University College of Engineering, Ramanathapuram (UCER), conducts admissions through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling, which is organized by Anna University, Chennai. Applicants need to register for TNEA, fill out the application form, and participate in the counseling process to be considered for admission to UCER.

Eligiblity

Must have passed 10+2 (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) from a Tamil Nadu school—or other states with nativity certificate or parents working here—for general category a minimum aggregate of 50%, 45% for reserved categories

State Government Scholarships: The Tamil Nadu state government provides scholarships to students who are domiciled in the state, with criteria often including reserved categories and economically weaker sections. 

National Scholarship Portal: The central government also offers scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal. 

Anna University: As an Anna University constituent college, UCE Ramanathapuram may also participate in scholarships administered by Anna University. 

Academic Performance: Scholarships may be awarded based on academic merit, such as high scores in board exams or strong performance in TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions). 

Attendance: Maintaining a certain percentage of attendance, often 75%, is usually a requirement for scholarship eligibility. 

Deductions for Backlogs: Students with backlogs may face deductions in their scholarship amount.

Placement

University College of Engineering, Ramanathapuram (UCER) has a decent placement record with varying statistics depending on the year and source. In 2024, the highest package offered to B.Tech students was INR 44 LPA, while the average package for B.E./B.Tech was ₹7.2 LPA,  Another source mentions a highest package of 6 LPA and an average of 4 LPA, with companies like TCS, Infosys, HCL, and others recruiting. Approximately 60% to 70% of the students are placed each year, with many securing positions in good firms through their own efforts.

Students can recharge at a clean cafeteria/canteen, and there's on‑campus medical support, guest rooms, and ample parking . Hostal

The college offers separate non‑A/C hostels for both boys and girls, each rented on an annual basis. A full year’s stay—including furnished room, electricity, and mess (veg/non‑veg)—totals around ₹46,800 (₹3,600 room rent + ₹21,600 mess + ₹3,000 electricity + ₹6,000 establishment + ₹1,000 admission + ₹5,000 caution deposit) . Transport

University College of Engineering, Ramanathapuram, provides transportation facilities for students, faculty, and staff. The college operates a fleet of buses that travel to various locations within Ramanathapuram and surrounding areas, including Paramakudi, Manamadurai, Ilayangudi, Mudhukulathur, Rameswaram, Kilakarai, Thondi, and R.S. Mangalam.
