Govind Guru Tribal University, Banswara Formerly known as Rajiv Gandhi Tribal University Udaipur is established in 2012 and renamed and the headquarters moved to Banswara in 2016. Bnaswara, Dungarpur and Pratapgrah districts of Southern Rajasthan are in its jurisdiction.

This state university was established by an Act in 2012 and (Change of Name and Headquarters, and Amendment) Act, 2016. At the time of its establishment, he temporary headquarters of the university was at Udaipur. After the headquarters change,the campus was in a rented Building “Janjati Bhavan’in Banswara Collectorate Campus. Presently, the university's main office is located in the Village Badavi Mahidem Road Banswara.

The university aims to impart higher education, research, innovations, and development. It also aims at creating new knowledge, sharpening vocational skills, and developing appropriate attitudes among the promising young generation for the reconstruction of society based on the highly cherished ideals of functional democracy. Admission to PG courses at GGTU Banswara, such as M.Sc, MA, LLM, and MBA, is based on the candidate's performance in the last qualifying exam. Admission to GGTU Banswara for other PG diplomas and other diploma courses is also based on the candidate's performance in the previous qualifying exam.

The admission to PhD courses at GGTU is entrance exam-based, RET (Research Examination Test).


GGTU Banswara Application Process 2022
Govind Guru Tribal University application process generally starts in May every year with the release of the application form for the UG, PG and PhD programmes. The selection criteria for different courses are the same in the University. The application process for GGTU Banswara is entirely offline. To complete the GGTU application form, candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of Govind Guru Tribal University.

Step 2: Go to the admission tab and download the application form.

Step 3: Take the printout and fill out the required information, such as educational details, personal details, and contact address.

Step 4: Sign and paste your colour photograph on the GGTU application form. To avoid any difficulty in the admission process, the candidates are advised to keep a copy of this application form.

Step 5: Pay the application fee of Rs 100 in the form of challan (You can download challan from the GGTU website) or in the form of a demand draft drawn in favour of Govind Guru Tribal University payable at Banswara.

Step 6: Finally, post the application form at the address provided on the university's website along with all the required documents such as birth certificate, category certificate, last qualifying degree certificate, Demand draft, etc., along with the application form. Required documents are

Candidates are advised to keep a copy of the demand draft of the fee paid as proof for further reference.
The university will upload the merit list on its official website, and selected candidates will be called for a counselling process where they must opt for the course and the college of their choice.
PhD aspirants are exempted from RET only if they have qualified for national-level entrance examinations such as UGC/ CSIR NET (JRF) examination, SET, GATE (with a valid score), or Teacher Research Fellowship.
RET is an offline test which is mandatory to qualify for PhD admission. Upon preparing for the examination, Candidates are invited to attend a personal interview by their chosen college of GGTU Banswara, based on which the access is granted.

Govind Guru Tribal University Banswara T&P cell constantly develops and enhances its students' leadership, managerial, technical and soft skills. The placement cell of GGTU Banswara consists of students as well as senior faculty members as coordinators or called the placement team, which interacts with industries, organisations, universities, and MNCs to facilitate a placement drive in the affiliated college's campuses for job opportunities for its students with high-end packages as per their aspirations and skills.

The GGTU placement cell conducts several workshops and seminars on soft skills training, personality development, and self-motivation. It also conducts placement camps, guest lecture training, and trade fairs, intending to bring the recruiters and students under one roof. If only MBA and B.Tech students are eligible for job opportunities at GGTU Banswara and other courses, students have to find their way ahead.

The GGTU placement process often starts in September with the campus drive of top firms having national and international reputations. GGTU Banswara Recruiters

GGTU Banswara provides financial aid in the form of scholarships to its meritorious students belonging to reserved categories under the Rajasthan State Scholarship scheme regulations. Every year, the Rajasthan state government releases a notification about the fee scholarship declaration of every student of GGTU affiliated colleges. Apart from this GGTU Banswara PhD scholarship is provided to research scholars.

Govind Guru Tribal University campus houses classrooms complexes, faculty and residential staff quarters, a healthcare centre that is operational 24*7 hours, and an administration block. In addition, the campuses are well equipped with sports facilities, a library, canteen, transportation facilities, separate hostels for males and females, a language lab and a computer lab.

IT Infrastructure

GGTU Banswara has established facilities for in-house use of e-mail, computers, and internet services for all students, project staff, and faculty members.

Hostel

Some affiliated colleges are equipped with a hostel facility, while a few are not. However, the colleges that don't have hostel facilities are provided with the nearest PG rooms available at affordable rates. Hostels offer recreational facilities such as TVs, health clubs, indoor games, and PCOs. Each hostel has live-in wardens and a faculty member who administers the accommodation. GGTU Banswara hostels are separate for male and female students.

Laboratories

GGTU Banswara laboratories consist of a language lab and a computer lab. Apart from this many affiliated colleges have different laboratories for different departments.

Sports

GGTU sports facilities comprise outdoor and indoor games facilities for students' recreation, including basketball, badminton, tennis courts, cricket, and football grounds. The campus sports ground also has a running track. In addition, the university also promotes sports like weight-lifting, taekwondo, trekking, and mountaineering.

Library

GGTU Banswara has a library at the main campus with a broad collection of books on specialised areas. There are many libraries in the colleges affiliated with it.

Auditorium

GGTU Banswara has as many auditoriums as different colleges are affiliated with it. These auditoriums are used for academic talks, conferences, seminars, slide and film shows, demonstrations, lectures, workshops, etc. The capacity of auditoriums and facilities it has attached varies with the college.

Canteen

The canteen facility is also provided by the Govind Guru Tribal University, which serves different cuisines. The quality and number of canteens vary with different colleges.

Govind Guru Tribal University alumni association is an extensive network among Indian universities. The university is proud to have a collective of more than one lakhs alumni.

Transportation Facility

The university provides a transportation facility for students and staff to the nearest market, railway station and bus stand.

GGTU Banswara banking facilities include an SBI branch and its ATMs on almost all the college campuses. If few do not have the branch inside, they have successfully set it up at the nearest college.
