University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences (UAHS), was carved out of University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru and University of Horticultural Sciences (UHS), Bagalkote. From UAS, Bengaluru (CoA, Shivamogga and CoF, Ponnampet (educated institutions)., all the research stations and KVKs of seven districtsviz. Davanagere, Chitradurga, Shivamogga, Chickmagaluru, Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi and from UHS, Bagalakote, CoH, Hiriyur and Mudigere (educated institutions) were separated and brought under the Management of University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences (UAHS), Shivamogga.

Location: University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga is located at Krushi College, Savalanga Road, Shivamogga, Karnataka. Mangalore Junction is about 211 km from the UAHS and the nearest bus depot is KSRTC Bus Depot which is about 11 km away from the University. The University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga (UAHS) offers admission to the undergraduate (B.Sc.), postgraduate (M.Sc.) and doctoral (Ph.D.) courses in the field of Agriculture. UAS Bangalore admission to the undergraduate courses is offered on the basis of the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Government of Karnataka through the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA)/AIEEA UG examination. Admission to postgraduate courses is done through the ICAR AIEEA PG examination. UAHS admission process for Undergraduate Courses:

Candidates will have to apply and appear for the Common Entrance Test (KCET) conducted by the Government of Karnataka through the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA)/ICAR All India Entrance Examination for Undergraduate Agricultural courses (AIEEA UG).
Candidates have to register and apply online on the website of University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore.
Based on marks secured in KCET/AIEEA UG, candidates will be shortlisted and shortlisted candidates have to further participate in the institute level counselling process for document verification and fee payment.

UAHS admission procedure for Postgraduate Courses:

Candidates will have to apply and appear for the ICAR All India Entrance Examination for Postgraduate Agricultural courses (AIEEA PG).
Candidates have to register and apply online on the website of UAS Bangalore.
Based on marks secured in AIEEA PG, candidates will be shortlisted and shortlisted candidates have to further participate in the institute level counselling process for document verification and fee payment.

UAHS admission process for PhD:
As per the notification, candidates have to submit their application online.
UAHS conducts the Entrance Test for PhD admission.
Candidates who have qualified UGC-JRF/NET examination are exempted from the entrance test.
The candidates who have qualified in the entrance test have to appear for the interview/viva-voce, conducted by the department research committee.

Interview judges the suitability of the applicant on the basis of applicant’s research aptitude, knowledge of the subject, a clear understanding of the proposed research problem, the suitability of proposed research methodology, research facilities available and availability of the research supervisor in the proposed research area etc.

Shortlisted candidates need to report to the University and complete the admission process which includes document verification and fee payment.
The candidates for admission will then be selected the basis of the performance in KCET and marks obtained in qualifying exam.
The marks of KCET and qualification examination (Physics, Chemistry, Math, Biology) will be taken in equal proportions for evaluation of the overall performance of the candidate.
The merits of a candidate for admission will be calculated on the basis of the score obtained in the qualifying examination.
The eligible candidates will be called for Counselling.

Education Loans
Getting Education is no longer an insurmountable problem these days. Education loans are available to the needy and deserving students from the Nationalized Banks at reasonable rates of interest. Theses loans are repayable after the completion of the degree/diploma.

Financial Help
It is a motto with the management of our Group, “Poverty would not be allowed to stand in the way of the completion of the education of meritorious students. Such students are generously helped. Academically intelligent and poor students to acquire higher education by giving them financial help in the form of tuition fee waiver. Relaxation in tuition fee is also given to merit position holders in the qualifying examinations/competitive examinations and position holders in the University examinations. The parents of meritorious students are also honoured along with the students in the annual functions of the Colleges.

Hostel Facility For Boys and Girls:

Fully furnished hostel facility for boys and girls is provided in the campus. Campus is Wi-Fi connected including hostel rooms, corridor, Canteen and cafeteria. The room has incoming telephone call facility. Medical facilities and Laundry facilities are also provided in Hostels.

Canteen and Boarding Facilities:

Hygienically prepared food provided at economic rates. Separate canteens have been provided for boys and girls. There are also Cafeteria, fast food centre and fruit juice outlets serving snacks and refreshments

Water Treatment Plant:

As drinking water plays an important role in maintain the health life of the students and staff, hygienic and purified water is supplied by the Society’s own water treatment plant to the entire campus. The quality and the contents of this purified water is officially tested on regular basis.

Generator Backup:

The entire campus of the Institute is provided with 125 KVA generators backup which includes SITS college buildings, Boys and Girls Hostels and Staff Quarters. This facilitates continuous un-interrupted power supply avoiding any inconvenience to the students during the performance of practicals or during the examination period. Further the computers in the campus are backed by 6 KVA on line UPS individually in each lab.

Campus Wide Wi-Fi:

The campus is connected to world wide web network though Wi-Fi connectivity not only in the hostel building but also in all open spaces including cafeteria, corridors and mess. Individual student’s login has been given to give them free storage at server wherein they can take the backup of their day to day data/ program files. This gives a lot of flexibility to the students and their physical location becomes immaterial to carry out completion of their assignments.

Sports Centre:

The campus has already developed an international standard sports complex for indoor and outdoor games like badminton, Swimming, chess, carom, table tennis, cricket, basketball, football, hockey etc. the swimming pool facility with separate timings for ladies and gents.

Banking:

There is nationalized bank like Bank of Maharashtra for financial transaction. Campus also has ATM facility.
