The multifaceted, magnificent Valliammal Education Trust was founded in 1968 by Prof. A.M. Paramasivanandam, an eminent Educationist, Philanthropist and a prolific writer with an objective of impairing quality education to the common people. The Prestigious Valliammal College for Women was instituted in the year 1987 with the conventional courses such as B.Sc. Math’s, B.Sc. Chemistry, Computer Science and Commerce. It is permanently affiliated to university of madras and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The dynamic leadership of the Chairman Thiru. A.P. Maikandan and the dedicated involvement of the visionary, awe-inspiring academician, Correspondent Thiru. A.M. Arivudai Nambi and the able stewardship of academic adviser Dr.s.valavan have ensured a phenomenal growth of the institution offering need based, application oriented courses such as Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, computer application & business administration suited to the latest trends

The laudable cause of empowering larger section of women through education has inspired the management to offer both shift I and shift II session with highly advanced and sophisticated Job oriented courses. The college offers 11 under graduate and 7 post graduate courses in shift I and 3 under graduate courses in shift II

The college has a sprawling campus with permanent buildings. Students get trained in the state-of-the-art laboratories with sophisticated equipment.

The college has an erudite and devoted band of 115 experienced faculty members who guide and motivate around 3000 students to achieve their goals and realize their dreams. The college encourages the students to participate in various curricular, co- curricular, extra curricular and cultural activates

ADMISSION - PROCEDURE

UG Courses

Application forms for Under Graduate Courses are available at the colleges office on all working days.

While filling the application form, follow the instructions given in the last page of this Prospectus carefully. The duly filled in applications should be submitted to the college office.

Applicants who have completed HSC / equivalent are eligible for admission to Degree course.

The interview card will be sent to the provisionally selected candidates. Admission would be confirmed only after the interview.

Receipt of the interview card does not guarantee admission. Intimation will not be sent to the application who are not selected.

Request for change of group is not entertained. Applicants who are selected should bring the original certificate mentioned below and pay the fee immediately.

Transfer Certificate

Conduct Certificate

Community Certificate

Fitness Certificate

Migration Certificate ( CBSE / Others)

Note : Students from other states / Boards should produce a migration Certificate.

Candidate who fails to appear for the interview or fails to produce the original ceriticates will not be considered for selection..

The candidate will be interviewed only if she brings the interview card.

All admission made provisionally are at the discretion of the management subject to approval by the University.

The college is not responsible if the candidate is found to be not eligible by the University for reason of any kind.

The selected candidate is advised to take sufficient photocopies of all the certificates before submitting the originals to the college. The certificates WILL NOT BE RETURNED till the student leaves the college.

WITHDRAWAL

Candidate who has enrolled for a course is expected to continue till the end of the course. If any student desires to leave in the middle of the course period, she has to pay the entire fee for all three years.

Transfer certificate will be issued to the candidate only after 10 days of applying along with a valid requisition and necessary fee. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance..Transfer certificate will be issued only after paying the entire course fee.

PG Courses

Applications for the specified PG courses are available at college office on all working days.

Selection will be based on percentage of marks in the UG degree.

Interview card will be sent to the provisionally selected candidates. The selection / admission would be confirmed only after the interview. RECEIPT OF THE INTERVIEW CARD DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION.

Interview card will not be sent to the candidates who are not selected.

The placement cell regularly organizes campus selection by entering into MOUs with leading companies and organizations of repute.

Sports

Healthy body provides a healthy mind.The management provides various facilities for outdoor and indoor games such as Volley Ball, Cricket Nets ,Kho-Kho, Hand Ball, Throwball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, 200mts Track facilities and training under Qualified coaches.

Management has alloted physical Education periods for I & II year students of UG Courses and regular yoga and Karate classes are also provided to all the students under Qualified Masters.

Our students have achieved Inter Collegate, University, District and State Levels championships by the encouragement and support given by our Management. Our Management provides Admission facilities for sports persons.

At the beginning of the Academic year, we had formed a sports committee and we had chalked out a physical education program and on those lines we carried out the programs.

The students participated in a variety of individual and team events through out the year with outstanding performances at higher level
