Valluvar Educational Trust was established in the year 2001 by Thiru. K. Senguttuvan, a notable industrialist in this region. Being a philanthropist, the chairman committed himself towards the upliftment of the rural masses through various community development initiatives. His penchant for education was the drive to establish Valluvar College of Science and Management in a serene, sprawling 40 acre landscape, on the Karur – Madurai National Highway.

Valluvar College of Science and Management was established in the year 2004, with a magnanimous vision of creating human assets with high ethics, who would considerably contribute for the betterment of the nation. Its a co-educational institution affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. The college offers 13 Undergraduate programmes, 4 Postgraduate programmes, M.Phil and Ph.D in Commerce. TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL         

      The Training and Placement Cell was established in the year 2006. Since its inception the Cell strives to bridge the gap between students and recruiters by inviting various companies to the campus for providing career opportunities to the students. The Cell not only serves as a liaison between recruiters and students, but it also aims at polishing the amateur skills of the students to make them industry-ready.       At Valluvar, the students start receive training from their pre final year onwards to prepare them to face the placement interviews. Training is given to each and every student with the goal of closing the disparity between the skills that are needed in the workforce and those that are possessed by the student. LIBRARY

Dr. S. R. Ranganathan Library was established in the year 2004. It is well stocked, and presently has a collection of books on different subjects/titles with digital library facilities. It provides comprehensive collection of books, journals, online databases (N-List, DelNet, and National Digital Library) and other reference materials, which helps for students to achieve in campus interview and competitive exams.

By using the library reference section, the students can develop their knowledge and skills. The Reference Section, Circulation Section, and Periodical Section are the three sections that make up the library. Open Access System is followed in the library. Circulation was computerized and barcoding system was introduced to speed up library transactions. All faculty and students were issued bar-coded membership cards for access to the library.

Users must scan their ID card in e-Gate Register.

Books will be issued to the students only on production of the valid ID card.

The books should be returned within 15 days from the date of issue.

Renewal is also allowed if the book concerned is not reserved by others.

Books which are not return on due date, a fine of Rs.1 will be collected as overdue charges.

Books borrowed from the library are not transferable.

Loss of books issued, if any should be reported to the Librarian immediately.

Strict Silence should be maintained inside the library.

Inside the sprawling campus of VCSM, Akshayam Cafeteria is endowed with a friendly atmosphere which is very appropriate for refreshment and nourishment, and it is supposed to be the favorite haunt of students during off hours. Healthy eating is about feeling great, having more energy and improving one’s health. So, special care is taken during the preparation of food and in selecting high quality ingredients. A wide selection of delectables with homemade flavors are available to quench the thirst of students. The cafeteria does more than just provide healthy cuisine to its patrons; they also ensure spotless dining area. The infrastructure provided is of top notch, to enable the students relax comfortably with their friends. Adequate seating facilities are provided to accommodate students and staff even during peak hours. The college has two separate canteens for boys and girls with CCTV surveillance. TRANSPORT FACILITY

Valluvar College of Science and Management strongly believes that better amenity helps students to learn effectively. So the institution operates buses to 23 routes encircling the remote corners of Karur district and the nearby districts such as Namakkal,Dindigul, Erode and Tiruppur,for the easy mobility of the students.The need for safe passage of each student to college and back home is of paramount importance to us. To ensure safe travel the college vans are designed as per standards and manned by trained drivers and personnel sensitized to the needs of students. For supervision and monitoring a transport attendant is on board throughout the journey, who is well trained in first aid and emergency management.Free transport facilities are offered for the students, faculty members, and staff of the institution. Buses have also been operated on regular routes during the end-of-semester examinations. To ensure the safety of the students, faculty in-charges have been appointed, and issues related to transport have been sorted out instantly.
