Veerappa Nisty Engineering College is a Private Un-aided college in Yadgiri in Karnataka established in the year 2010.  It is a one of the institutions under the Sharnabasava Vidyavardhak Sangha, Kalaburagi which was established in 1903 to do Akshara Dasoha to the educationally deprived region with a vision of “Quality Education, with strong commitment to provide professional education with thrust on creativity and innovation along with a sense of social responsibility, human values and concern for social commitment”.  The Sangh is a provider of Quality-level Education and Research in the South region of Karnataka. 

 
As a College within the wider Sangha network, VNEC is a dynamic, fast-growing educational institution that recognizes its strategic location in Shorapur.  It is responsive to the local/regional needs and contributes not only to University-level education but to the social and economic development of the region.

 
Veerappa Nisty Engineering College is spread across 10.0 acres of land amidst an ambience of peace and tranquility.  It is located near KSRTC Bus Depot, Hasanapur Camp, Shorapur, Yadgir, Karnataka.
VNEC is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgavi and accredited by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

 
Veerappa Nisty Engineering College offers various Courses in the UG and PG levels.  It includes BE degree programs in 5 disciplines and MTech degree in 2 disciplines of Engineering.  It also offers 2-year MBA full-time program.  The eligibility for admission to BE courses is based on scores of the KCET, COMEDK UGET entrance exam.  The accepted entrance exam for MTech is PGCET and for MBA the college accepts admissions on the basis of the PGCET/CAT/MAT/KMAT scores.  These programs feature practical, hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for the workplace, or for the next step on their academic pathway.

 
At VNEC excellent infrastructural facilities like Spacious Classrooms, Laboratories, Workshops, Incubation Centre, Library & Information Centre, Hostels, Sports Club, Health Care, Transport, Canteen, etc are provided.  Special emphasis is on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Experiential Learning. Other Student-centric activities include Placement and Training Cell and Anti-Ragging Committee.

Admission to B.E, Passed in Second PUC/12th standard/Equivalent examination with English as one of the Languages and obtained minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/ BioTechnology/biology/Electronics/Computer. 40% for for SC, ST, Category- 1,2A,2B,3A, and 3B ccategory candidates. Foreign/NRI students are also admitted to the B.E. courses. They must hold a valid student VISA.Admission to B.E Lateral Entry, Passed in any diploma examination or equivalent examinations and B.Sc degree holders from a recognized university as defined by UGC with minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/ BioTechnology/biology/Electronics/Computer. 40% for for SC, ST, Category- 1,2A,2B,3A, and 3B ccategory candidates. • Physics and Mathematics are among the prescribed qualifying subjects, along with the required additional subject combination.

• Meet the minimum marks prescribed by the applicable admission authority.

• Fulfil KCET/COMEDK and other applicable admission requirements.

M.Tech.

Admission Process

• Complete B.E./B.Tech. in the relevant engineering discipline.

• Apply through the applicable postgraduate admission process.

• Candidates may use GATE/Karnataka PGCET or another applicable route depending on the admission category.

• Participate in counselling/selection.

• Complete document verification and fee payment.

• Relevant B.E./B.Tech. degree.

• Generally, a minimum aggregate of 50% is indicated for M.E./M.Tech. admissions, subject to applicable category relaxation and regulations.

MBA

Admission Process

• Complete a recognised bachelor's degree.

• Apply through the applicable MBA admission route.

• Appear for an accepted examination such as Karnataka PGCET, KMAT, CAT or MAT, according to the applicable category.

• Participate in counselling/selection.

• Complete document verification and fee payment.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

• A minimum aggregate of around 50% is generally indicated for MBA admission, subject to applicable reservation rules.

• Candidates must fulfil the requirements of the selected entrance examination.

We strongly believe that Students and recruiting organizations are two of our most important customers. The Placement Cell of the Institute is responsible for arranging training of the undergraduate and postgraduate students in order to make them comfortable in the recruitment process of various organizations and to provide world class job opportunities in a range of private and public sector organizations. The Placement Cell also arranges pre-placement orientation to the students prior to formal campus interviews from senior executives of major industries. VNEC conducts extensive on-campus recruitment programs, workshops, seminars and individual career and job search assistance. VNEC has a close interaction with organizations such as TCS, Wipro, IBM, Marine etc. for research, academic and Training & Placement activities. Campus interviews for graduate /postgraduate students normally commence in VII semester for B.E graduates, III semester for MBA and M.Tech.

Training:- The Institute takes care to train students for the campus recruitment. A structured Training programme for both IT and Non-IT branches students is put in place. VNEC regularly conducts training on topics such as Quantitative ability, Technical ability, Verbal ability, Logical ability, Group discussion, personal interview and communication skills with the assistance of best trainers. The College has modern hostel facilities in the campus for both boys and girls with in-house mess facility providing hygienic and nutritious diet. Safety and comfort of the students is the primary focus and in-house wardens monitor the welfare of the students. The hostels have solar systems and electrical geyser s for providing hot water apart from the modern amenities like recreation facilities, library facility etc.The College library is located in a spacious new building of 468.88 Sq.The library is open to students and staff members from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on all working days.The library has a rich collection of around 23584 volumes of text books, reference books, national and international journals in all branches of Engineering, Science, Technology, Management and General Studies, and the collection is ever increasing.

The sports department has been actively headed by Prof.Ninganna Gouda, Physical Education Director, since it’s inception in promoting physical activity and sportsThe department has been active since its inception in promoting physical activity and sports. It has always played a key role in organizing sports activities and tournaments.There are two major canteens which offer multi-cuisine food for both resident students and day scholars. A leading cafe chain has set up its operations on campus offers snacks, coffee, sandwich and pastries. The Canteen is designed to cater to 150 students & staff. The canteen is a place where students congregate to not only eat but exchange views. Our Food Court has a modern kitchen where food is steam cooked. The washed dishes are sterilized for hygienic serving.
