 The Velammal Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Madurai, a Velammal Group of Educational Institutions, was established in the Year 2013 with a noble vision to provide medical care of international standards at affordable fee to all and to impart medical education of high standards thereby producing compassionate, empathetic, socially responsible saviors. The Velammal Medical College Hospital and Research Institute is situated in a beautiful green landscape of a widely spread 140-acre self-sustained township.   It is located near Toll Gate, Madurai-Tuticorin/ Airport-Mattuthavani Ring Road, Velammal Village, Anuppanadi, Near Chinthamani, Madurai, Tamil Nadu.  The College is 11 Kms from the Madurai Airport.  9 kms from Arapalayam Bus Stand, 7 kms from Madurai Railway Station and 9 from Mattuthavani (MGR) Bus Stand. One can reach the campus easily by various modes of transport from all parts of the State and rest of India.

The VMCH is affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) with the annual intake of 150 seats in MBBS and 43 seats in 15 disciplines of Postgraduate studies.   It is also accredited by NAAC.

The VMCH offers both UG and PG programs in the field of Medicine and Allied Health Services.  The MBBS, MD/MS programs need NEET UG and NEET PG for admissions into the college.

The Velammal Medical College Hospital And Research Institute, Madurai, primarily offers MBBS, MD, and MS programs. Admission to the MBBS program is based on NEET-UG scores, while MD/MS admissions are based on NEET-PG scores

Admission Process

• Register separately for Tamil Nadu state counselling via Directorate of Medical Education (DME). (Note: All‑India quota of 15 % is also available via MCC).

• Do choice filling and locking, selecting Velammal College if preferred.

• Participating in document verification — original and attested copies.

• Fee payment to confirm the seat, followed by issuance of provisional admission letter

Eligiblity

• Must be 17 years old on or before 31 Dec of the admission year. Upper age limit: 25 years for general, 30 for reserved categories .

• Passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotech, and English, securing:

  • At least 50% aggregate in PCB + English for general category.

  • 40% for reserved categories, 45% for PwD

MD/MS - 3 Years Course

Admission Process

• Qualify NEET-PG exam.

• Register for Tamil Nadu NEET-PG counselling.

• Choice filling, selecting Velammal Medical College if desired.

• Document verification and fee payment similarly to UG proces
