Admissions at Vidya Academy of Science & Technology are conducted strictly on merit and according to the regulations of AICTE, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), and the Government of Kerala. Students can secure admission through Government Merit, Management, and NRI quotas depending on the programme. Applications can be submitted online through the official admission portal, followed by document verification, counselling, seat allotment, fee payment, and confirmation of admission. The institution does not authorize any third-party agents or consultants for admissions, ensuring a transparent admission process.

Admission Criteria 

B.Tech

Admission Process

• Candidates must meet the prescribed B.Tech eligibility criteria and qualify for the applicable entrance requirements.
• For Government Quota, candidates must qualify and be ranked in KEAM and participate in the Kerala allotment process.
• Candidates applying through Management Quota can submit the application online and admission is made on a merit basis as per the applicable norms.
• Selected candidates must attend the admission process with the required original documents and supporting certificates for verification.
• After document verification, candidates must pay the prescribed fees and complete the required formalities to confirm their B.Tech admission.

Eligibility

• Candidates must have passed 10+2/Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/Computer Science.
• Candidates must satisfy the minimum marks requirement prescribed under the applicable Kerala engineering admission norms.
• For Management Quota, the college states that candidates with at least 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry together are eligible, subject to applicable regulations.
• For Government/KEAM admission, candidates must meet the eligibility requirements prescribed by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala.
• Candidates must fulfil the course-specific and regulatory eligibility requirements applicable to B.Tech admission at the college. The college states that admissions are conducted according to regulatory-body norms.

M.Tech

Admission Process

• Candidates must meet the prescribed M.Tech eligibility criteria and apply through the appropriate admission process.
• For Government seats, candidates should apply through the admission process prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Kerala.
• For Management seats, candidates must submit the application online through the college admission portal within the specified period.
• Admission to Management seats is based on merit, and eligible candidates are called for admission counselling on the notified dates.
• At the time of admission, candidates must submit the original/supporting documents and prescribed fees to complete the admission process.

Eligibility

• Candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech or equivalent Engineering degree from an institution approved by AICTE or a recognised university.
• Candidates must have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Engineering Degree examination.
• SC/ST candidates need only a pass in the Engineering Degree course, as per the applicable norms.
• SEBC/OBC candidates require a minimum of 54% aggregate marks in the Engineering Degree examination.
• Candidates with AMIE/AMIETE qualifications must have a valid GATE score and at least 55% marks in Section B.

MCA

Admission Process

• Candidates must meet the prescribed MCA eligibility criteria and complete the application process.
• For Government admission, candidates must appear for and qualify in the Kerala MCA Entrance Examination.
• Candidates seeking Management Quota admission must apply online through the college website within the specified period.
• Admission is based on merit, and eligible candidates are called for admission counselling on the notified dates.
• Selected candidates must submit the original documents and prescribed fees to complete the admission process.

Eligibility

The college provides several scholarships to encourage academic excellence and support economically weaker students. These include Vidya Merit-cum-Means Scholarships, Vidya KEAM Merit Scholarship, AICTE Full Fee Waiver Scholarships, Half Fee Scholarships, Arts and Sports Scholarships, PTA Merit-cum-Means Scholarships, Alumni Scholarships, Principal's Scholarships, and scholarships for wards of staff. In addition, students can also avail Central and State Government scholarship schemes if they satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria.

The Training and Placement Cell at Vidya Academy of Science & Technology conducts placement training throughout the academic year, including aptitude development, communication skills, coding practice, mock interviews, resume building, industrial visits, internships, certification programmes, and campus recruitment drives. The college has established collaborations with leading IT companies, core engineering firms, and multinational organizations, enabling students to secure career opportunities in software, manufacturing, electronics, consulting, and emerging technologies. More than 300 placement offers have been recorded, reflecting the institution's focus on employability and industry readiness.

Vidya Academy of Science & Technology offers excellent infrastructure to support academics and student life. The college provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls within easy access of the campus. The hostels offer furnished rooms, nutritious food, Wi-Fi connectivity, study halls, recreation facilities, round-the-clock security, wardens, uninterrupted water and electricity supply, and hygienic dining services. The hostel environment is designed to provide students with a safe, disciplined, and comfortable atmosphere that supports both academic and personal development.

Vidya Academy provides an extensive bus transportation network connecting Thrissur city and surrounding towns and villages. The transport service enables students and staff to commute safely and conveniently to the campus. Bus routes are planned to cover major locations across the district, while students residing far from the college are encouraged to utilize the hostel facilities for greater convenience. Transport charges are collected semester-wise.
