Vijaya Institute of technology for Women (VITW) is a nonprofit organization established under the umbrella of SRK Foundation in 2008. The institution was carved out of the benign vision of eminent educationist and industrialist, Sri B. S. Appa Rao, who desired of providing quality education to the rural, semi urban and urban students. The institution is located on the National Highway 5 in the city of Vijayawada, also known as cultural capital of Andhra Pradesh, on the banks of river Krishna. Its location makes it one of the most accessible colleges in the city.

The institution is located in an area of 4 acres with 17,824 sq.mts of built up area. The institution is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Government of Andhra Pradesh. The institution is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada

It is also certified by ISO 9001-2015. The institution started student admissions in 4 UG programmes viz: ECE, EEE, CSE and IT branches. Today, the institution offers 6 UG programmes with a sanctioned intake of 420 students. The institution is offering 2 new UG programmes called Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Data Science, AI&ML started in the academic year 2020-21 and Data Science in CSE from the academic year 2022-2023 onwards.

The institution offers one PG program - MBA Masters in Business Administration. The institute has well qualified and experienced faculty. The faculty is encouraged to update their knowledge and pursue higher degrees. The institute provides requisite facilities and infrastructure for students and staff. The institution has strong industry-academia collaborations in the form of MoU's with the organizations like APSSDC (Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation), EDU Skills, Infosys Spring Board, and ICT Academy and with other reputed Academic Institutions and Industries for sharing socio- technical and cultural programmes and knowledge. The institution strives to provide quality education that encompasses sustainable holistic development thereby enhancing the career prospects as well as life skills of the students.

« The College is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada. The student admissions are governed by the rules and regulations of APSCHE.
« The student admissions are based on the rank obtained in EAMCET/ICET entrance tests for B.Tech and MCA/MBA respectively, and are filled by the Convenor.
« The Student admissions are based on the rank obtained in GATE /AP-PGECET entrance tests for M.Tech.
« The diploma student admissions are based on the rank obtained in POLYCET conducted by State Board of Technical Education and Training, AP.

Admissions under Category B (30% of intake in each course)
« The College has a provision to admit the students under Category B, 30% of intake in each course (except Diploma) every year, which is in line with the eligibility criteria laid down by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.

Lateral Entry
« Additional 20% of the sanctioned intake in each course is allocated for admission through lateral entry at 2nd year level into B.Tech Program. The admissions are governed by the rules and regulations of ECET entrance test, APSCHE.

The Training & Placement Cell at VITW is a very strong department with an impeccable track record in placing students right after their graduation. The Training & Placement Cell constantly keeps in touch with HRs of various major MNCs and IT companies to enhance the employability of the students.

VITW is proud to share that our college got MOUs with more than 10 International and National companies for providing competency based placements, internship training, faculty development program and industrial visits etc. In addition, we achieved 100% placements by providing training to all the eligible engineering graduates. In order to give students an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills the campus has been maintaining close liaison with the reputed companies throughout the country for the final placement. In addition, we are conducting training programs for GRE; TOFEL & GATE regularly to the final and pre-final students of all classes along with CRT (campus Recruitment Training) to impart competitive skills, communication skills, mock interview and group discussion techniques. For functioning of TPO Cell, a senior professor is acting as an Training and Placement Officer and he is assisted by placement associates from different departments.

Our Institution runs 19 Buses.
Bus facility is being provided by the college covering all the parts of Vijayawada and city outcuts.
