VMCON, Puducherry conducts M.Sc. (N), B.Sc. (N), P.B.B.Sc. (N) under Vinayaka Missions University and DGNM, DMPHW [F] and DHI under the Board of Examinations, Puducherry.  Its UG & PG Nursing programs provide students the opportunity to extend themselves intellectually and clinically, thereby rendering quality healthcare to the general public through its hospital and community services.

VMCON is situated in a pleasant and spacious campus within the AVMCH campus on Cuddalor main road, Kirumampakkam, 20 km away from Puducherry.  It has its own unique office  building in the 3.15 acres of land. Admission Procedure

To get admission at Vinayaka Missions College of Nursing (VMCON), Puducherry, you must apply online through the official website of Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation (VMRF), meet the eligibility criteria of 10+2 with specific subjects and marks (45% general, 40% SC/ST), and appear for the VMRF entrance examination

B.SC Nursing - 4 Years Course

Admission Process

• Entrance Exam:

  • VMRF‑DU conducts an All India Common Entrance Examination for B.Sc Nursing across its constituent colleges including Puducherry. 

  • Exam pattern: 100 multiple choice questions, in English. Subjects: Physics (20), Chemistry (20), Biology/Botany & Zoology (20), Nursing Aptitude (20), English (20). 

  • Duration: ~ 3 hours 

• Application:

  • Fill out the online application form when entrance exam is announced. 

  • There’s a registration/application fee (for example ₹ 1,000) for the exam/admission process. 

• Merit & Counselling:

  • Based on entrance exam scores & meeting eligibility, candidates are ranked. 

  • Counselling is conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF‑DU. Seats are allotted in order of merit. 

• Seat Intake:

  • B.Sc Nursing has certain number of seats per year (e.g. 60 or 100 depending on source).

Eligiblity

• Passed 10+2 / Higher Secondary School (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany & Zoology, AND English individually. 

• Minimum aggregate marks: 45% (General category). For SC/ST (or reserved categories), 40% marks in the core subjects.

Admission Process

1. Application

• Visit the official website of Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation to apply online.

2. Merit Based Selection

• Selection is based on your marks in BSc or Post Basic BSc Nursing.

• There is no entrance exam.

• Seats are allotted through counseling conducted by the university.

Eligiblity

1. Educational Qualification

• You must have completed either BSc Nursing or Post Basic BSc Nursing from a recognized institution.

2. Minimum Marks

• You need at least 55 percent marks in your qualifying degree if you are from the general category.

• For SC or ST candidates, the minimum required marks is 50 percent.

3. Registration

• You must be a registered nurse and midwife with your State Nursing Council.

4. Work Experience

• You must have at least one year of work experience after registering as a nurse.

Placement 
Placement Cell was established with the aim aspiring to provide best career opportunities for nursing students. It plays a key role in coordinating placement activities and guiding them for their successful future placements. It acts as an interface between the academic process of the students and their entry into the world outlook. The final year nursing students are recruited by various organizations in and around the state, and in major cities in India and abroad. The placement activities are arranged and facilitated by the institution during the month of July every year. The cell also proposes to conduct career guidance seminars and workshops to enable the students to become successful professionals. The prospective professionals are willing to take placement in campus recruiters, foreign careers, also higher education in India and foreign countries. The placement cell also keeps track of the changes in demand in the industry and this feedback is incorporated in the teaching and training curriculum. Thus, the students can be prepared well in advance.
