Vinayaka Mission's Kirupananda Variyar Arts and Science College (VMKVASC),

 
       Mr.  A. Shanmugasundaram, in an endevour to impart education, to society in general, and to the destitute and underpriviledged section in particular, paved the way for the establishment of Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal Medical Educational and Charitable Trust at Salem, Tamil Nadu, India in the year 1981. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Vinayaka Missions Trust.

      Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Arts and Science College VMKVASC was started in the year 1995 with the intention to provide world class education, aimed at facing global challenges and to promote all-round development of the students’ potential by providing Student-centered, Career-oriented and Quality education. The institution is ISO 21001:2018 certified and top performing nodal center by MHRD.  The Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation is accredited by NAAC with A Grade. 

      Under the ready-steering guidance and direction of our Hon’ble Founder Chancellor Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram, The VMKV Arts Associate in Nursing Science faculty shaped its base as an attached faculty beneath Madras University, metropolis within the year 1995 and anon attached to Periyar University, Salem within the year 1996. In recognition of the Trust's excellence in education, VMKVASC was accorded University status within the year 2001 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The university is the forty-eighth Deemed University in India. anon within the year 2001, Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Arts and Science faculty, Salem is brought beneath the range of Vinayaka Mission’s Analysis Foundation Deemed University, Salem and has been functioning mutually of the Constituent units of Vinayaka Mission’s analysis Foundation Deemed University.

      Vinayaka Mission's Kirupananda Variyar Arts and Science College (VMKVASC) became a constituent college of Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation Deemed-to-be University in 2004. Currently the Institution offers a number of Under Graduate Courses, Post Graduate Courses and Ph.D. Programme . VMKVASC has constituted a Rural Entrepreneurship Development Cell and has been religiously serving the rural community for the betterment of their business or enterprises by providing the Technical Know-how. VMKVASC is collaborating with various Institutions of national importance for Research and Development activities.

     VMKVASC endeavours to provide world class education towards facing global challenges and to promote all-round development of the students’ potential by providing Student-centered, Career-oriented and Quality Education.  The Institution encourages Excellence in Teaching through academic programs in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences by providing the best of education to the under-privileged sections of the society, imparting leadership qualities to dare new challenges, facilitates students to develop professional and life skills to enhance the employability, inculcates the importance of human and ethical values and promotes students' ethical and intellectual development and capabilities through critical and independent thinking, reading, and communicating.

     The establishment serves the Society with its best Education System, glorious Infrastructural facilities, Laboratories, data Resource Centers etc., particularly for the poor and therefore the  rural folks in and round the geographical surroundings of the establishment.

The College of Arts and Sciences encourages excellence in teaching through academic programs in the arts, humanities and social sciences by:

        The programmes offered by the University aims at the ability to:

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

i.        Admissions will be made for PG Degree programmes, on the basis of Score obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG) merit based Counselling will be conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF-DU and the eligibility criteria prescribed by VMRF-DU rules & regulations from time to time.

ii.        For prospective vacant seats (if any) after CUET-PG Counselling, on the basis of the Merit of the Qualifying examination through counseling.

The Institute helps each student in exploring placement opportunities by inviting various companies for campus recruitment of students who are in the final year of the programme and are likely to graduate at the end of the academic year.

The final placements, at the Institute, are a result of very systematic interaction with the industry and continuous career counseling of the students.The placement activity is primarily managed by the Placement Committee headed by Placement Officer as Chairperson.
Activities of the Placement Cell:
• Conduct trainings for students on personality development, communication skills and other skills to make them fit to encounter the Interview processes.
• Preparation of Placement Brochure for final placement.
• Pre-placement visits (PPV) to the companies.
• Communication, networking and relationship building with the potential recruiters
• Invitation to potential recruiters to visit the Institute.
• Conducting the Placement processes and follow-up activities.
