Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Medical College which was started in 1995, is a constituent college of Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation, Salem.  The institution was established with a vision of providing service to humanity by making available the best form health care to the local community.  It provides able governance and leadership to translate this vision into action through its high quality Medical Education and advancement of Medical Program to achieve national and international health goals.

The Vinayaka Missions Kirupananda Variyar Medical College and Hospital is located in the rural area of Salem in a vast area of 51 acres in Chinna Seeragapadi, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. The ampus is about 14 km from Salem Town Railway Station. Salem Airport is 29 km and Gandhi Road Bus Stop, located at a distance of 15 km from VMKVMC Salem is the closest bus stop. Students can also take a cab or an auto to VMKVMC Salem campus once they arrive in Salem.

VMKVMCH is affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. The college is approved by UGC and NMC, New Delhi.  The hospital is having consultancy services, tie-ups with Govt. of Tamil Nadu. 

VMKVMC Salem offers various courses at UG and PG levels including MBBS, MD, and MS. The admissions to MBBS programs are through valid NEET scores. The admissions to MD and MS programs are through NEET PG scores. The College intakes 150 students for MBBS, 15 MD specialisations and 5 MS  specialisations.

VMKVMC Salem which covers a sprawling area of 51 acres is adequately equipped with all basic infrastructural facilities.
