    Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation had its inception in the year 1981 with the establishment of the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal (TKVTSS) Medical Educational and Charitable Trust.   Building upon this foundation, the visionary Founder-Chairman, Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram, founded the Vinayaka Mission's College of Pharmacy at Salem in 1982. This institution marked the pioneering step of Vinayaka Missions in the realm of education.  Today it is still going strong with 43 years of experience.

      In a significant step, the year 2001 witnessed the prestigious status of "Deemed-to-be University"  conferred on Vinayaka Missions by The Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, with the endorsement / recomendations of the UGC (Established Under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956).  This accolade acknowledged the institution's  unwavering commitment to academic excellence, satisfaction of the highest level of academic standards and provision of exceptional  infrastructural facilities, all of which converged to establish preeminence in education.  This recognition was a mile stone heralding the transformation of Vinayaka Missions  to becoming Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation (VMRF), marking its distinction as the 48th University in India.

   VMRF boasts an extensive academic landscape comprising of 13 Colleges and 11 Schools, including :3 Medical Colleges, 2 Engineering Colleges, 1 Dental College, 1 Pharmacy College, 1 Homeopathy Medical College, 3 Physiotherapy Colleges/Schools, 3 Nursing Colleges, 2 Arts & Science Colleges/Schools, 5 Schools of Allied Health Sciences, and 1 School dedicated to Law, Physical Education, Rehabilitation and Behavioral Science. These institutions are spread across four campuses in Salem and Chengalpet Districts in Tamilnadu, as well as Puducherry and Karaikal of the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The Medical colleges, collectively offering 2000 beds, extend healthcare services tirelessly to rural population. Satellite medical centers further augment the university's outreach, while its Virology Research Labs, accredited by NABL, stand as instrumental hubs for SARS-Covid virus testing.

Across the university, a remarkable 46 Research centers/Laboratories spearhead exploration in vital domains including Biochemistry, Microbiology, Food Science and Technology, Virology, Alternative Energy, Environment, Nano Technology, Pharmacy and Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Internet of Things.

    In tandem with its academic endeavors, the university champions entrepreneurship, with MSME-recognized Business Incubation Centers at its Engineering colleges, promoting Start-ups. Evidencing its innovative prowess, the university and its constituent institutions hold 69 patents.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
   A pass in 10+2 / H.Sc (or) its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Biology / Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology / Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Computer Science
Candidate shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of Admission.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
   Admissions will be made for UG Degree programmes, on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and merit based Counselling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF-DU and the eligibility criteria prescribed by the VMRF-DU rules & regulations from time to time.

PG PROGRAMMES

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
A pass in B.Sc. Allied Health Science Degree (or) its equivalent examination with relevant subjects

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
    Admissions will be made for PG Degree programmes, on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and merit based Counselling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF-DU and the eligibility criteria prescribed by the VMRFDU rules & regulations from time to time.


DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
A pass in 10th / H.Sc (or) its equivalent examination with science subjects

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
   Admissions will be made for Diploma programme, on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and merit based Counselling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF-DU and the eligibility criteria prescribed by the VMRF-DU rules & regulations from time to time.

    According to the NIRF report 2023, 1,164 UG, 294 PG and 6 Integrated PG students were placed during Vinayaka Missions placements 2022. The median package offered to UG students ranged between INR 1.4 LPA and INR 4.92 LPA.

Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) offers scholarships / fee
concessions and fee waiver to recognize and reward meritorious students. The scholarships / concessions /
Freeship are awarded to students as per the categories listed. These scholarships / concessions / Freeship are
given every year to help young aspiring students to pursue higher education.

The quantum of scholarship and
the number of scholarships are subject to change from time to time and according to the courses.

Scholarship categories
 Freeship is provided under Founder’s Scholarship scheme·
Top 5000 rank in JEE (Main), Top 1000 rank in JEE (Advanced), CBSE (Top 100) & District Toppers
in each district of Tamil Nadu in 10+2 Level Exam and State Board Toppers in H.Sc. level,
Orphans & Economically very poor candidates with merit.
 Merit Scholarship is provided based on the +2 marks.·
 SSocially / Economically backward category students.·
 The University facilitates scholarship to the SC/ ST / Minority Students from the Government·
agencies.
 Scholarship is provided to students from First Graduate from the family.·
 Scholarship is provided to Wards of Ex-Servicemen.·
 Scholarship is provided to Differently abled students with an academic merit.·
 Scholarship is provided to Sports proficiency in International / National / State / District level·
students
 Scholarship is provided to children of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation staff mebers.·

Scholarship Procedure

Selection
a) Every year all eligible students have to apply for fresh and renewal of the scholarship in the prescribed
form available in the University / College office/ Website. Failure to apply for renewal within the
stipulated date will disqualify the student for scholarship for subsequent years

b) Application forms for request of scholarship for fresh and renewal will be received from May to till
August of every year.

c) A student can apply and avail ONLY ONE scholarship

d) The scholarship committee instituted by the university shall be the authority to scrutinize the
application and recommend eligible candidate names for the award of scholarship and/or tuition waiver
as applicable. The Vice Chancellor shall be the final authority to approve the award of the scholarship.

e) The eligible students will be informed through the Head of the Institution

 Continuance of Scholarship – Engineering

The continuance of scholarship for the subsequent year is purely based on the academic performance of the
student in the previous academic year of the immediate previous year of study with above 9.0 SCGPA (without
any break of study) unless mentioned for the course period. In such case, student would get the same amount
of scholarship which was provided in the previous year.

Those students not under any scholarship category during admissions and wish to apply based on VMRF-DU
examination with a 9.0 SGPA and above, are eligible to get only 20% scholarship in Tuition fee for that year.

 Continuance of Scholarship – Other Courses

The continuance of scholarship for the subsequent year is purely based on the academic performance of the
student in the previous academic year of the immediate previous year of study with above 8.0 SCGPA / 80
Percentage (without any break of study).

 Not Eligible for Scholarship

Students in the following categories are not eligible for any scholarship for any year during the course of study.
 Break of study·
 Failure in the VMRF-DU examination·
 Less than 75% attendance·
 Disciplinary action / Enquiry / Suspension·
All the above scholarships are renewed every year subject to academic performance in the VMRF-DU
Examinations.

 Norms for renewal of scholarship
5.1 For all scholarship categories except Founders and Merit category
a) Scholarship can be renewed based on the performance in the VMRF-DU university examination,
Attendance and conduct, certified by the Head of the Department and Head of the Institution.

b) A Student with 9.0 SGPA and above and passed in the first attempt (without failure in the previous
semesters) eligible to apply for Engineering and for all other courses it will be 8.0 SGPA / 80 percentage
c) Attendance: 75% and above in each semester is mandatory

 For Scholarship category – Founders and Merit category

a) Scholarship can be renewed based on attendance and conduct, certified by the Head of the
Department and Head of the Institution
b) Attendance: 75% and above in each semester is mandatory
