It was established in 2014 under the Viswabharathi Educational Society, founded by Dr. D. Kantha Reddy. Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences conducts Counselling for all Government and Private Colleges In Andhra Pradesh (AP). The Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences holds Separate counselling for State Government Medical and State management quota seats. The counselling will be organized through an online mode in which candidates have to exercise their web options.

Admission to MBBS is strictly based on NEET-UG qualification. Candidates must register for AP NEET UG Counselling conducted by the competent authority of Andhra Pradesh. Seats are allotted based on NEET rank, category, reservation norms, and availability.
