ABOUT :

The Xavier Institute of Engineering (XIE), a sister institution of St. Xavier College, Mumbai, Fort, is an engineering college in central Mumbai, established in the year 2005 to give a quality technical education to all, with a preferential option for economically backward and Christians . The institute is managed by the Society of Jesus, Jesuits, and is affiliated to Mumbai University, approved by AICTE New Delhi, and recognized by Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra . XIE is a member of AJIT, the Association of Jesuit Institutes of Technology and IAJES (International Association of Jesuit Engineering Schools) . It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India .

Since XIE is affiliated to Mumbai University, it follows its syllabus and examination system.

It began in the early 1930s as a technical institute on the premises of St. Xavier College, Mumbai, providing basic professional courses .

In 2005, it became a polytechnic founded in Mahim, near what was called "Fishermen's Colony", a fifteen-minute walk from the Mahim Junction Railroad Station. At the same time, the Xavier Institute of Engineering (XIE) was started on the same premises.

XIE offers an undergraduate degree course in Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (60 seats), Computer Engineering (60 seats), Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security, IoT with Block Chain Technology) (60 seats), and Information Technology (60 seats). XIE also offers Honours Degree Program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Language (ML) for all the branches. .

There is one-year diploma course in Sound Engineering (20 seats). In collaboration with Marquette University, XIE has set up the "Gait Lab", where a person's walk is captured in 3-D imaging and to which Government hospitals are sending children to seek help as it is the only lab in Mumbai.

Admission Process

Xavier Institute of Engineering (XIE), Mumbai B.E Admission process :

Admission into the B.E course at Xavier Institute of Engineering (XIE) is entrance exam based. Candidates must have completed their 10+2 studies with minimum 50% marks under the CBSE / ICSE / other recognized boards. MHT CET is a pen-paper based exam conducted in the state of Maharashtra.

Mode of Application is offline. The students can apply by following the given steps given as under:

1. Download the application form available on the college website.

2. Fill the application form and submit the same to the college office.

3. An application fee of INR 1000 is to be paid at the time of submitting the application form.

4. Mode of payment is through cash. If otherwise, candidates will be informed by institute.

Xavier Institute of Engineering (XIE), Mumbai was established in 2005. It offers admissions to B.E degree in various specializations on the basis of MHT-CET and JEE Main scores.

Admission into the B.E course at Xavier Institute of Engineering is given on the basis of score MHT-CET.

Scholarship

Xavier Institute of Engineering (XIE), Mumbai Scholarship:

All students belonging to SC, ST, VJ, NT, OBC & SBC admitted through Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) are eligible for obtaining a scholarship.
However, they must fulfill the following conditions and produce the following relevant documents (in duplicate with attestation) as given below:
1. Admission to the course should be through CAP only.
2. S.SC. & H.S.C. Mark sheet / Previous Year Mark sheet.
3. Caste Certificate & Caste Validity Certificate.
4. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate valid up to March 31, 2021.

Library
The College Library is the heart of any academic institution. A Library is a trinity of documents, users and staff. It is the staff, who, by their service bring the users in contact with the documents.The college Library is situated on the first floor of the building above the general office and adjacent to the Conference Room . The total seating capacity of the Reading Room is 90 and that of the Reference Section is 40.
Sports
The Institute has a well-equipped gymkhana on the third floor. It has adequate facilities for various indoor games such as Table Tennis, Carom and Chess. Besides this, facilities are available for outdoor sports too. Cricket, Football, Volley Ball, Basket Ball and Badminton are some of the sports that are played on the vast open ground available within the campus. A more elaborate gymkhana will soon be constructed on the terrace with a variety of games and exercise machines.
I.T Infrastructure
The Campus has a state-of-the-art, air-conditioned computer laboratory with all the latest software. There are a total of 25 computers with TFT [LCD] monitors. It offers a Local Area Network, with two servers and three Printers. The operating systems supported are Windows XP, and Linux – Red Hat. A 24 hours Internet facility with 4 Mbps bandwidth is also available for use by students and staff.
Cafeteria
The Institute has a spacious, clean, well-lit and aerated canteen serving tasty and hygienic food & snacks. Quality meals are provided at reasonable rates. The Canteen is also the hub of student activity and many a time students are seen discussing their projects over a cup of tea and snacks. It also has an open-air Food Court for students to relax and interact.
Auditorium
The College has a large Seminar Hall which is fully equipped with Audio Visual and Internet facilities.
Alumni Associations
The College Alumni Association provides a forum for the students to maintain and spread their links with the Institute. It provides numerous services to current students and alumni alike. All graduate students do not become members of the Alumni Association. Membership of the Alumni Association can be obtained by registering at the Institute. The Association is involved in the following activities: Alumni reunions, Networking with industry, Association mailings, Interacting with other Jesuit Alumni, Special projects etc. In general Alumni Association provides many opportunities in which the alumni can participate, such as promoting programs, assisting the future students in difficulties etc. By being involved with the Institute (Alumni Association) you are not only helping yourself but also helping current and future students thereby making the world a better place to live in. We are looking for our ex-students to come forward and start the process of making this Alumni Association a strong one so that the bonds of the students get stronger and promote the understanding between the students of the past and present.
Laboratories
The college has a departmental based laboratories facility for the students. Mechanics Lab, Basic Electrical and Electronics Lab, Communication Skills Workshop, Electronic Devices And Circuits Lab, Communication Lab, Microprocessor and DB Lab, Mechanics Laboratory is equipped with modern systems supporting a broad spectrum of experiments that are designed to provide a fundamental basis for underlying engineering course. Some of the equipment available is Compound Pendulum, Simply Supported Beam, Link chain apparatus, Inclined Plane, Bell Crank Lever, and Simple Jib Crane etc. All these help to promote conceptual learning of the subject to students. In order to impart the best training to engineering students, every department in the Institute has its own self-sufficient Laboratories. The laboratories at Campus have high safety standards and are designed and well-equipped.
Gym
The college has a well equipped Gymkhana on the ground floor.
