During its formative years, the land of 20 acres to YMCAIE was provided by the State Government for the construction of teaching block, hostels and residential campus. The labs and workshops were set up with the assistance of German expertise. The State Govt started funding 100% grant-in-aid to YMCAIE from the year 1994 onwards, and subsequently took over the management and the resources in the year 1998. The YMCAIE was upgraded to the University by the Legislative Act 21 of 2009. The UGC granted the 12(B) status to the University in the Year 2012 enabling it to receive grants from UGC. The University accredited by NAAC with ‘A+’ Grade in the first circle of accreditation in the year 2016. In 2017, it got the status to grant affiliation to the Engineering Colleges situated in district Palwal and Faridabad. In 2018, the University was named after the great scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose by the State Government vide a notification dated 11.10.2018 (Haryana Legislative Act No. 29 of 2018).

The salient features of German education have been retained by the University and as such the University stands apart from other Universities of Haryana. The sophisticated equipment and machines in the workshops and laboratories enable the students to operate various machines independently so as to acquire thorough knowledge and develop competence in their respective skills.

The University has a rich alumni network as its alumni are the leaders in the Industry and corporate world. They have played a significant role in the Industrial development of Faridabad and contributing significantly to the techno-economic growth of the country.

YMCA Faridabad admission to B. Tech is done through JEE Main scores followed by Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) counselling. Admission to M. Tech is offered on the basis of valid GATE score merit.

JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad has a training and placement cell that helps in increasing placements by improving the employability of students and imparting necessary skills in students that are important to meet the expectations of the industry. The YMCA Faridabad placement cell manages the entire campus placement drive. The training and placement cell also collaborates with the industry for live projects, workshops, and research works for the benefit of students.

YMCA Faridabad placements highest package for B.Tech in 2022 was Rs. 35.9 LPA. YMCA Faridabad lowest package for B.Tech stood at Rs. 2.8 LPA in 2022. Facility

The University Library is a modern library fulfilling the educational needs of students, Research Scholars, faculty and staff of various Departments of the University. Library is spread over a total area of 7200 sq. ft. It also has a separate reading room where students can also bring their own books to study. Library has a rich collection of 57336 volumes in the stream of Engineering & Technology, applied sciences and Management. It has also subscribed good number of journals, magazines and newspapers for its readers. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is available to locate the reading material in the library; and it is also member of INDEST Consortium.

Hostel Facilities - The University provide hostel facilities both for the boys and girls. There are 4 boys’ hostels namely:

·         Dispensary - The University has a dispensary to provide medical assistance to students and staff members.

·         Bank and Post Office facilities - The Institute offers both bank and post office facilities for the students. There is Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) branch in the university campus. There is also post office facility available to students and all the staff members of the university.  It provides all the facilities like speed post, registered mail, money orders and mails.
