Garden City University-Industry Institute Partnership Cell (GCU-IIPC) is based on the Integrated and Inclusive Model, where both the industry and academia exchange knowledge, skills, expertise, infrastructure, and resources to create an ecosystem that benefits the industry & institute (the students).

  College of Engineering, Guindy provides placement opportunities to registered students. The College of Engineering, Guindy placement is managed by the Centre for University and Industrial Collaboration, which provides the infrastructure for group discussions, tests, and interviews, as well as other logistics. The College of Engineering, Guindy placement cell provides advice and organises training programmes for students to improve their communication and soft skills.    Registration of Candidates: Interested candidates need to register themselves with the College of Engineering, Guindy placement cell for participation in the placement drive.

   Pre-Placement Talk: The companies interested in recruiting students from the College of Engineering, Guindy visit the    campus and talk to interested students about the company’s work culture, the job role offered by them and their vacancies.

   Shortlisting of Candidates: Candidates interested in the job role are required to share their CV with the company and apply for the job. Further rounds are conducted with the selected candidates, who are shortlisted based on their CV.

  Application Test: The shortlisted candidates are required to appear for a test conducted by the company which tests the candidates on a variety of parameters. 

  Group Discussions: The shortlisted candidates are required to appear for group discussions where they need to talk for or against a given topic.

Suitably trained manpower with skill sets appropriate for design, development, and prototyping using modern IT tools is critical to achieving this goal. This Institute is envisioned as an academic institution of excellence that would facilitate and promote the competitive advantage of Indian products in global markets. This Institute will serve as an interdisciplinary institution for education and research in the area of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) encompassing design and manufacturing using state-of-the-art concepts, tools, processes, and practices of the industry world over. Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Kancheepuram (IIITDM Kancheepuram) is a Centre of Excellence for technical education and research established in 2007 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India to pursue design and manufacturing-oriented engineering education and research and to promote the competitive advantage of Indian products in global markets.

The institute offers academic and research programs that integrate engineering design, manufacturing, and management with information technology. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs which focus on IT, design, and manufacturing in engineering sectors. The institute is located on a 51-acre campus on the outskirts of Chennai, off the Vandalur-Kelambakkam road. It is a fully residential campus with all students residing within the campus. The campus houses the academic block, the administrative block, the lecture hall complex, and the laboratory block.
