Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) was established in the year 2021 as a private not-for-profit self-financing institution and dedicated to serve the society as a centre of excellence with emphasis on medical education and health care.  SMCH functioning under Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University was established by Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Charitable and Educational Trust, which achieved the task of establishing the Institution as a “Centre of Excellence” under the leadership of Shri. A. Srinivasan who was the Founder & Managing Trustee of the Trust and also the Founder-Chancellor of the University.  Srinivasan Medical College is one of the newly established hi-tech medical colleges in Tamil Nadu known to provide modern education in the field of medicine.  

 
Campus and facilities of SMCH are spread over 25 acres of land dotted by well manicured lawns, sprawling open spaces and trees.  The Medical College and Hospital is housed in a vast, refreshingly lush green, pollution-free, tobacco-free, alcohol-free campus.  Popularly known as SMCH Samayapuram, it is situated on NH-45, Trichy-Chennai Trunk Road, (Near Samayapuram Toll Plaza) Samayapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.

 
Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital Samayapuram is affiliated with Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Srinivasan Medical College offers 150 seats for admission under its MBBS program.  The eligibility for admission to the college is NEET score.

The focus on catering to the healthcare needs of the rural population in Namakkal District is commendable with a daily footfall of around 800-plus outpatients. The comprehensive curriculum emphasizes hands-on training in both in-patient and out-patient settings. The goal of instilling standard protocols for history taking, examination, differential diagnosis, and complete patient management is crucial for developing competent medical professionals.  The inclusion of practical knowledge and experience in performing clinical procedures is essential for preparing students for real-world medical practice. The 12-month internship across various specialties further enhances the students' exposure to different aspects of healthcare, including ward management, staff management, and counseling skills.

Hostels

Home away from home

The Institute has three Girls hostels [Air conditioned] and two Boys Hostels which are in all means home away from home. All rooms are well furnished and ventilated. Rooms are available in single, double & triple occupancy modes. Hygienic & Nutritious food is cooked on steam cooking facility and served in separate dining halls for Boys and Girls. Continuous treated drinking water facility caters to the inmates of the Campus.

Sports & Recreation Facilities

Has playground with separate spaces for Athletics, Cricket, Football and courts for Basketball, Volleyball ensure the all-round development of the inmates Common Rooms equipped with indoor games like Chess, Carom Board, and GYM with ultra-modern equipment’s and Gadgets - Provided separately for Boys & Girls, etc. ensure recreation.
